Welcome to the forum, londonlassie!  Your post made me laugh - I loved your descriptions of the ways Sims can be so utterly, completely silly and illogical.  Maybe that's part of their charm?

I hope you'll enjoy the forum!  :)

Thanks Schipperke! Glad to provide some giggles :)

Haha, the "Whippna choba dog!" drives me crazy too. Maybe we should learn to be more optimistic, like the sims?  ::)

Sims are awfully optimistic given how much players like to wreck their lives. Strangely, Sims of mine who have the negative traits, like Loser and Unlucky, tend to be the ones who do the "Whippna choba dog!" most of all. Courage in the face of adversity, perhaps :P

I now have a universal hatred for jocks doing the school cheer in The Sims. It got so incredibly annoying hearing it in a dynasty that it's now ingrained into my brain for the rest of my life.

My child angler keeps rolling a want to "Go Fishing Before 6AM".

She's got a curfew. The minute she steps off the home lot, her "Go Fishing" action cancels itself out and is replaced by "Go Home". Yet she still keeps rolling that same "Before 6AM" want.  ::)

So yeah, curfew is pretty high on my hate list right now.  >:(

You can get around that by building a pond at home. Other curfew things, not so much, but home-ponds are excellent for my young anglers.

That's a good point.

Curfew does get annoying though. My current household owns several residential lots, one of them being a private "lab" where I keep the science group project machine and that kinds of stuff that don't fit in the houseboat, plus the vegetables garden and that kinds of stuff. Of course, I send my teenage sim over there to level up science after school, but when she goes back home she always ends up grounded.  I guess I have to get a bed and a fridge for the extra lot and have her stay there  ::).

I should probably go look at some other threads, but this one is just too much fun.  ;)

It annoys me how when one Sim in a multi-Sim household is hungry, they will autonomously prepare a huge group serving of a meal rather than just one serving for themselves. Especially since in my game, it tends to go thusly:

Option 1: The Sim who makes the food has a low cooking skill; the food they prepare is either average quality or bad. Everyone else in the household flocks to the meal to eat.
Option 2: The Sim who makes the food has a high cooking skill; the food they prepare is of very nice quality or higher. Nobody else in the household eats, I either forget or don't know the food is there, the food goes off, and I spend ages trying to work out where everyone's "dirty room" or "disgusted" moodlet is coming from.  ::)

The dirty surroundings moodlets annoy me so much. I can spend ages looking around for something and then I realise that my sim just dumped the rubbish on the floor instead of taking it to the trash can  ::)
Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is youer than you.

I usually end up having at least one Neat Sim in most households for this exact reason. Although I find that with Neat Sims, they rarely wish for anything outside neatness. I had one Sim from a baby to an elder, and she only rolled a countable number of wishes in her lifetime that had absolutely nothing to do with being neat - twenty-five, I think it was. Everything else was dominated by "Wash Hands 3 Times" or "Make The Bed" or "Bathe" while her hygiene motive was still all the way in the green.

This did however make it really easy to keep her happy. She'd get out of bed in the morning, roll a wish to "Make The Bed", get a fulfilled moodlet, eat breakfast, wish to "Clean Dishes", fulfilled moodlet, and so on and so forth. Neat Sims are pretty easy characters to handle  ;D

The same as the OP - It really bugs me that labouring sim drives lol.
The fact that there is no underwear annoys me too, because the PJs are just underwear?
It annoys me that horses have no canter, and that they automatically learn racing skill.

I now have a universal hatred for jocks doing the school cheer in The Sims. It got so incredibly annoying hearing it in a dynasty that it's now ingrained into my brain for the rest of my life.

Were you there for the WA song era? They would sing those songs anywhere and everywhere. While idling, while bathing, while cooking... EVERYWHERE.
I never... ever... *shudders* ask locals to teach my Sims songs anymore. Actually, upon seeing your post I remembered the Shang Simla song... and I think it triggered a possible mental meltdown (lol, not really, but you get the idea!)

Things that annoy me on the Sims (likely been covered but to reiterate): You can't hand an infant from one sim to another! In order to have the mom sim give the infant to the dad sim (or any other sim to any other sim) they must put the baby on the floor (or in the crib if you really want to waste some time) and have the other Sim pick it up. You think it would be easier to just have a "Hand child to" interaction.

Here's something that really annoyed me. Yesterday my household of five Sims had a fire. The Sim I controlled called the fire department while the other four Sims were yelling and walking toward the fire.

I didn't know this but Coward Sims faint at fires. He fainted and blocked the four other Sims from moving and they burned to death.

So I exited without saving. Then later on, another fire broke out. This time I had a fire alarm. Coward Sim faints, and I sent all my other Sims into the pool out of the way.

Firewoman arrives puts out flames the Coward Sim wakes up and then I hear the Grim Reaper music. The four Sims drowned in the pool.

The firemen/women annoy me. Once I had a fire, it took them forever to show up and my own Sims put it out. Then I was fined 500 simoleons, because the firewoman thought I called in false alarm.

I was like of course, there's no fire, we put it out ourselves.

Another time I had a huge fire, two Sims died and the fireman says "I can't reach it let's hope it burns itself out." I was like you could try??? I managed to put it out and the weird part was the toddler Sim was in the middle of it, and of course, because they can't die, didn't.

I've got the one from the Sims 2 stuck in my head forever.

I have 3 vampire sims in my household currently, and each time one of them gets plasma juice once they finish they set it down on any open space and leave. When I'm not paying attention I can have all of my tables cluttered with the boxes, is it that hard to ask a vampire to do their part for the enviroment and toss the box away when they're done?  ::) I've started watching them like a hawk and make them throw it away immediately after they set it down.
