8. Ea's Selfishness, They actually hinted at NRAAs Traveller mod in a live stream!

I'm missing something. A shout-out/acknowledgement is...selfish?

I was wondering the same thing, but I have no idea what/when/why EA said what about Nraas  ::).

They mentioned something about a mod that allowed any world to be set as a travel location, and the only one that can do that is Twallan's Traveler.

EA is far from a perfect company, but acknowledging the modding community is hardly selfish. Sure, I guess it's a little frustrating that they themselves didn't implement the feature, but if they did, there would probably be other things to mod too.

Well, I guess that depends on what they said about the mod (if they said it was good or bad or whatever).

But I agree, even if EA did include every feature that current mods include, people would still find new stuff to mod. OK, EA should really tweak Story Progression so that it actually could be called "progression", but we can't expect them to think about everything or the new EP's would never be released LOL.

Pretty much, someone asked if you could travel to Sunlit Tides, and one of the gurus said they couldn't, but there was a mod out there for that. That doesn't sound too negative to me.

Though I'd be fine with a delayed EP if they could fix Story Progression.

That's not negative at all!

Of course! Story Progression is a central feature of the game that EA should obviously make as perfect as possible. But there are other less important features like traveling and such that aren't really that necessary. Yes, it would be cool if EA would make them better, but we have to be realistic too.

I don't think it makes EA selfish at all. In fact, EA even supports modthesims. I mean, EA knows that they can't do every little thing themselves, especially with trying to create new Expansions and SP's, and they have a ton of other non-related Sims games to obtain to. It's not they're fault. There's always a game mod out there, not just in Sims, but in other EA games, even non-EA games. I mean you can't expect the developer to do every single thing. Carl himself I think helped created a mod for WoW.

I have to say, with WA, it's annoying that I check out a new tomb to explore, and there's no key nearby, with a keyhole. Even if I cheat, there's no way around it.

Yup, that's exactly what I meant. It does bother me that they didn't come up with a better Story Progression, but all the other little things I understand completely. We would still be expecting the first EP if they did everything themselves! To me, it's better to have them work in Supernatural that figure out a way to make every world travel-able or to make sims not read books they have already read again. I mean, those things are cool but... Supernatural (or any other EP) is cooler  ;D

Just discovered another new annoyance with career outfits, this is the first time since they got added i've had a teen with a part time job and like everybody else she got a career outfit, clothes were okay but she had the wrong hair and accessories and no shoes. Well the hair was sortable I just changed her into her outfit then used the mirror but when I went to the dresser teens don't have the career tab so I have no way to give her some shoes. What is it with the no shoes thing anyway, seems to happen a lot with career outfits.

It seems a bit off that teens who have a part time job don't get the option to change thier work clothes like adults do, all they had to do was enable the career tab for them.

I once had my sim get a random career outfit. He was a male sim. His career outfit included makeup. So I had a male sim spending half the day in dark red lipstick.

I'm all for breaking the gender barrier with fashion and makeup, but I want control over who gets to do it in my game.

For some reason many of the Sims have fallen into the habit that when I send them home and not tend where they are going, they stand around in the garage complaining about the unfinished room. When they visited a family in France, they to where hanging out in the garage for no particular reason!

Also it annoys me with all the NPC parties where they are asked to turn up in swimwear and the host doesn't even have a pool!

On the sims 3 pets (for ps3) after enough happiness points I gave a cat the "no nauseated" power thing to have them still be nauseated every now and then and it stops them from doing stuff like go to town or hunt for critters.  They stop and act like they are throwing up but they don't and it cancels out the thing I told them to do.

I know this has happened to others, but am livid!

My wife-sim was at home painting all alone all afternoon but when her husband came home he accused her of cheating on him!  He's got the betrayed moodlet for 5 days at -50 mood!  It reset their relationship bar to nil.  I couldn't get them to sleep in the same bed for 2 nights.  When it happened, I clicked on the item in the cue to stop it but it just kept popping back up.

I've been able to get them back on the right path, and have written it into the story line, (am trying to found an Immortal Dynasty.)  but o, dear, the language I'd like to use would have Pam kick me off the forum forever!

I'm so glad I'd heard that this can happen before it did happen to me, otherwise I think I would have cried.

I did find that social (NOT romantic) interactions will reduce the duration of the Betrayed moodlet.

@Cathyknits, thanks for the tip.  It's so sad! His queued up wishes are all about having a baby and kissing her!

I knit too, btw. Hurrah for Knitters!
