Travel Bug--Sims Don't Show Up

Since Patch 1.24 came out, a few people including myself have been plagued with a new travel bug. When a sim family goes to a foreign country, the country loads but the sims never appear. I've read many different things about people suggesting it has to do with a save file or with a vacation home. Some people even have this problem without having previously visited a foreign area. So now, World Adventures is basically useless, and I know I really miss being able to vacation. If anyone has any ideas, possible fixes, tips, etc. please share.

After a lot of searching, I found a solution that worked for me. First, I cleared my caches--all of them. SimCompositorCache.package, compositorCache.package, CASPartCache.package, scriptCache.package. Then I went to my game and briefly switched active households to another home and back.

So far so good! I hope this helps other people.
