You know, I am not sure, but I don't see why they couldn't as long as they were level 10.  Will have to try that, I have a ton of seeds and my little gardner is getting ready to pass on, but I have been working on the heirs to keep up the gardens, but I have not had anyone else plant the seeds yet.

Yes they can plant them, just not order more since they have not completed the string of opportunities.

Are you sure?  I've had lots of gardeners and don't recall any being able to plant Omni seeds until they achieve all of those opportunities.  They've been able to tend and feed the Omnis, but not plant them.  Unless my memory is failing me, which is entirely possible.

Actually I am going to test this again since it has been months since I last had a Sim with the omni plant opportunity.  My Simbot just got the cheese/egg one so in a couple more sim weeks, I should have the seeds and we shall see.

Ok, tested.  100% sure that someone else can plant omni seeds without opportunity.  I brought back a ghost that was a gardner, actually the mother of my baby boomer challenge, she ordered them and her daughter planted them.  I wasn't totally sure myself after I posted that, anyway, I feed mine mostly the expensive books and sometimes the deathfish, which looks really quite scary on those plants, especially when you have alot of them.

So here's a question for omni gardeners: how many active omni plants do you keep (re-feeding them as soon as harvested)?

I find that if I keep 6, I don't end up using them all continuously. Usually I keep 2-4 of them busy at once.

I have 10 planted.  I usually feed 4 -6 at a time and funny thing is, sometimes, they won't have the option to feed and then a few sim days or weeks, the option is back.  I don't use them all either, in fact in one game I have now, I have quit feeding them, I probably have 50 Dragon Ripple books in the inventory anyway, not sure why I have not sold them, I probably forgot about them.  As far as re-feeding, if I choose to re-feed I might for a few days and then quit.  I like feeding them life fruit.  In my first baby boomer family, I can't quite give them up yet.  I have the mother as the ghost in the family and three others have passed away so far out of 10 children.

I did the same thing, growing life fruit, deathfish and angelfish for the longevity. I've never played a sim to the death.

So far I have played about 3 Sims from birth to Death and two from YA to death, another one will be soon added to the first score at 106 days I am now digging the grave!   Nah, Fred is good to the family, very good with his board breaking skillz.

It varies randomly.  Sometimes you get the next opportunity in the chain quickly, sometimes it takes forever.  My advice is that once you get the ability to grow the next plant, go ahead and start working toward the next opportunity.  After you complete the cheese opportunity, go ahead and start growing steaks and get them up to Excellent quality as soon as you can.  Then if the next opportunity takes awhile to pop up, all you have to do when you get the opportunity is take them in.
