Is ambrosia an option? And I think the cheeses must be Excellent, but the steaks Outstanding.

Would a Sim on normal and retired Elder stage with max gardening already be able to do it before they... pass.

There again, it depends on how fast or slow it takes those opportunities to show up and if they have already started on the opportunities.

My Sim has got the cheese one and she is half way through Adult or near Elder, she hasn't planted any cheeses I can't remember if she has green thumb or enough points to change a trait for it.  :)

You better get to planting, because after that one is the meat patties.  I think they have to be level 9 to plant cheese.  I never pay attention if I am just playing for fun, but usually I watch a little closer when I have opportunities that I am trying to finish.  I have done so many gardners, you would think that I would know them by heart.  I still love the gardning.  That is the one self employment one I have not done yet.  Guess I had better try that one. ;D

It's steak, not meat patties.  And LlamaMama is right; they have to be Outstanding.

I knew it was some kind of meat. They just tenderized the steak and made them meat patties.  Ok, will be quiet now.   :D

Well Daphne has maxed Gardening and is now at Level 9 Culinary, one more Job promotion till LTW is fufilled! Then I can buy the gardening LTR which might speed things up a bit, anyway my legacy sims have a way of living much longer than they should, Fred is 18 days older so I hope Daphne can stay around enough to get some Omni Plants!

How do your legacy sims survive so long?

Can you feed the omni plant fishing books? The last one is worth about 2,000.  Oh, and what about the ambrosia recipe, can they be fed that? That costs 10,000 at the supermarket.

I'm pretty sure you can feed them books but not recipes.

I have successfully fed the highest fishing book.  Sadly for me, I had already purchased the Bookshop Bargainer (or whatever that Lifetime Reward is called) so my books cost only 1,500.  Even so, getting several copies back from each omni was still a right nice return on my investment!

The recipes, including the 10,000 one, are a no-go.  Would be nice though, eh?

You got back the amount you paid for the book, not the full value?

I fed it a 1,500 book and got several 900 books in return.  Perhaps 4-5 of them, can't remember.  Since this was my first experience with omni plants, I assumed it was normal that the return items would be worth less than the original.  Let's say I invested 1,500 and got 4,500 back (900 x 5 books), I still netted 3,000 on the total transaction. I haven't done much more experimenting with the plants.  I was just trying to learn how they work.

Do omni plants normally return items that are the same value as the ones fed?  If so, I got ripped off!!!

Technically, yes.  When you feed something to an Omni Plant, you get an exact copy of what you fed to it.  If you feed perfect Life Fruit or perfect Deathfish to an Omni Plant, you will get perfect items back from it...even if the quality of the Omni Plant is horrible.

However, everything depreciates in value when you buy it (even books).  But if you use a book that you can sell for $1500, you will always get books back that will sell for $1500.  You'll never get a book back that is equal value to what you paid for it, though.

Let's see if I understand this -- omniplants bloom with sell-priced items, not purchase-price items.  So the people who have access to the $2,500 Chinese books don't get $2,500 books back?  Or do they get $2,500 books because they don't actually purchase the books?  I don't have WA so I have no experience with how those books are acquired.

I don't remember what the sell-price was on the fishing book I used.  I'll check that.  I'll also check to see what happens if I purchase the book at full price.  I hope I still have that file available.
