All this to say that maybe the double-clicking on Sims3pack hasn't been updated correctly with the last patches. It's probably better to manually put the files in the Downloads sub folder from The Sims 3 folder, then run the Launcher (from icon) and install through it.


This is a very good suggestion. Go to your downloads folder, select the .sims3pack, right click and pick cut or move, and navigate to your documents/Electronic Arts folder and find the Downloads folder under Sims 3. Paste it in the white space there. When it's in there it should be properly detected by the launcher no matter what.... in theory. This could save some poor souls from having to patch up when they don't really want to.

Im unlocking it now because I have another question.
I have ambitions and world adventures, WA being a direct download and ambitions is a disk, and I am at patch 1.22. I downloaded Anushka's gem collections, and found it in the launcher, selected it, and clicked install. It had a progress bar that then finished. Then a message popped up saying something alongthe lines of "you have to be updated to the latest patch" and then underneath that it said "Done!"
I'll put the exact thing it said when I have the game in front of me tomorrow.
So, what does that mean?

Was it "this item requires a software update"? If so, you need to patch up again.

Sorry about that, I updated my game for same reasons - to install downloaded lots with latest patch. As far as the game is concerned, patch didn't broke anything, and some things are fixed - so you might want to update your game regardless the swap shop downloads.

I agree. In my experience, nothing happened, except once, but that's because I used a Batch File to launch the game. Lauching normally, by double-clicking the icon on the Desktop, nothing out of the ordinary happened (bar one graphical glitch.)

I just got WA and am not having any problems with the path I'm at so I really don't want to push my luck by installing the new one, especially when I hear a lot of people are having problems.
