Question for everyone. I need to patch up for the challenge Mad Max, and what I've read here scares me. Should I patch up, or just withdraw from the challenge?

Honestly? In my opinion, no competition is worth what this patch does to your computer.

Esther, personally, I never had the huge bugs that this patch brought. It really depends on if your game is already buggy or is bug-free.
Well, that's your opinion, isn't it? And I'm not about to waste my time trying to change it. - Lady GaGa

Hm one vote for each. Well, aside from the inventory bug that hit my Dynasty, I've really been lucky. Not sure if I want to press my luck or not though.

I'm in the same boat. ::)

I've actually decided that I'm just waiting till my birthday, when I get all EPs and SPs up to and including Generations, to do a complete reinstall and install this patch.

I have patched and, apart from one silly bug that may or may not have been caused by the patch, my game is going along fine.   ???

I only have the No Household when visiting China, I don't know about the other locations yet.

I got it for France.  I tried a bunch of workarounds and nothing worked.   I'll have to see about the other locations (I'm really hoping China's not bugged, since I want the Martial Arts tournament.)

Unfortunately I believe the travel is still buggy where-ever you go.  Be sure to save before you leave. :P

I uninstalled and reinstalled everything.  Brought my family from Bridgeport to Sunset Valley and just tonight I got the "all congregating on a lot again bug" when doing an audition. All the sims go to a specific lot, stay there whether I reset sims or not they just come back, throw up yell, pee pass out and drop dead and die on a lot.  I haven't seen this in a while but it seems it has never been fixed with a patch.

I'm wondering the same thing as Esther, but I think I'll just patch up when pets comes out. I have no (that's right, no) bugs right now so do you think it's safe for me to patch up?

Well, there are no guarantees in life.

Personally I wouldn't press my luck unless I had to.

Okay, I won't. I was looking at the description of it and here were exactly 3 things in it that would affect my game. There's only 3 things for the base game and none for ambitions so I see no reason why i should risk it.

I am completely up to date on patches and aside from the annoying delay changing clothes, the latest patch has solved many issues.  I did not have any issues installing the patch either.

I haven't had any travel bugs since the patch, where before I always had something go wrong while traveling.  Everyone shows up now and everything I buy comes back home with me.  I'm so happy to be able to travel again.

Photography now seems to work again...well it works like it used to.  It's never worked properly imo.  I can be standing in front of a building trying to take a picture of it and get credit for a building on the other side of town that I can't even see if I zoom out because there are a dozen other buildings in between.

As near as I can tell the patch has done much more good than harm to the game, unlike previous patches.

I have had some issues with a ghost sim but I'm not sure if these issues have been around before or not because I've not really played with a ghost before.  It was a vampire that burned to dust during a party on my lot and one of my sims had the task at the science facility so I thought I'd bring her back.

When I installed this patch, after doing a complete uninstall and reinstall to install my 3 new EPs and 3 new SPs.. it ruined my game. Not only couldn't I travel at all, but one of my teen sims cued up actions would all delete if one of the actions involved the fridge and/or chess table outside. I resetted her and replaced the chess table and fridge but this made no difference. Then, it turned out I couldn't click on my Max Skills sim. He couldn't click on himself, and no other sim could click on him. So, off I went to uninstall and reinstall again but up to patch 1.22. All these bugs except for the one with my teen sim are still there. Annoying or what? :(

Sounds like a pretty bad bug you have there. A complete reinstall, base game too, (mostly) fixed my game. I'm assuming that you're backing up your saves to use after the reinstall, right? I don't know if it will affect you, but when I reinstalled, I was having problems because my backup had been saved while I was playing with patch 1.24. When I reinstalled, I only patched up to 1.22. However, I was having so many problems with my game that I had to patch up to have any hopes of it working. Then when I re-patched up to 1.24, my games were fine except for the photography bug. My sims can only take photos while on vacation.
