Patch 1.24, Issues.

Post patch and photography does not work. I had to reset my sim. Shortly after that I had to save and quit, my family (RL) needed feeding. Went back into game later and my sim had totally disappeared! His wife was still there but could not stay in her bed she kept popping out. That particular game has been dumped, so my sims will not be going abroad again.

So sorry to hear that. It's really pity when you think that once you could send your Sims on a honeymoon... Happy times!

Good to hear I'm not the only one! Same error, "Invalid File Found" and blah blah. But maybe it's a sign that we shouldn't install this patch  I think I'll wait a few days and see if it causes any more trouble.

Too bad to hear that Photography was not fixed though! I'm playing a photographer at the moment and yesterday I had to exit my game three times and reset her like a hundred times more because, even without opportunities, she couldn't take any pics. I mean, she could... but the game wouldn't tag them as part of a collection.

Let's just hope EA will fix both the patch and the game soon! There are some really annoying bugs out there and some of them are really old. Yesterday I realised that my sims still can't reach excavation sites in World Adventures, and that started like... with Ambitions?

The complete uninstall, reinstall, patch update, redownloading of store content went fine.  I put my saved games back in,  they work fine so far,  but unfortunately the photography still does not work, even when I X'd out of the camera it wouldn't dissappear from the top left corner. 
I started a new game but have yet to get a camera so I'll post back after I'm able to get a camera in the new game.

I did a complete re-instal of the game and the downloaded the patch but photography is still completly broken. I guess that means no more photographs for my immortal dynasty...

I'm so sorry to hear about all these problems everyone is having. I'm also having the photography bug. Plus, I also have the same travel bug as Katluvr. I'm going to reinstall tomorrow. Does anyone have advice about the order? Like, base game, patch, then expansions? Some people aren't having problems, and I wonder if a certain reinstall order would help.

When I did the full reinstall after Generations was released, I read that you should reinstall in the order that the EPs/SPs were released.  I was prompted to patch before installing each one after the base game.  There is information on the official EA site about the release order which will help you determine the order to install in.  Good luck - I hope it works for you!

I'm happy to announce... it worked!!

Moreover, my save files are unharmed. I tested my official Dynasty and Legacy only so far, but am going to see if others are alright too. I'm loving the TLS stuff, totally worth it! Lol.

Thanks! The extended process was really exhausting, however I managed to wrap it up successfully. No more of this till October 20th.

TLS is rather good in my opinion, now that I have the chance to experience and review it. The build/buy mode has had just a few additions, but all of them are rather good, and quality ones.

As of the clothes and hairstyles, Pam has posted a few shots in the appropriate topic for this stuff pack. The selection is pretty much limited, but the stuffs' rather outstanding for a stuff pack. Not speaking of the buildings, of course, those are just marvelous. EA really put some work in this pack, it seems.

 I uninstalled, reinstalled everything.  I opened one of my games that I've been playing for quite a while now that I had before the patch. I just went into edit town in Bridgeport to place a house on an empty lot.  The lot is bigger than the house so it shouldn't be a problem, well every time I click on place, all my map icons disappear.  I even tried to place a community lot which I changed to allow visitors, same thing happens, all the little icons disappear.
Looks like I'll have to save my family and house and move yet again to another Bridgeport.  These patches certainly take the fun out of this game.

I've tried five times to install Update 1.24 and when it's nearly complete it says Update Error: Invalid File Found    I have never had problem with Updates before. My security program asks if it's okay to install it, same as always, and I say yes. I don't know what invalid file it might be referring to. If anyone knows anything, or is having the same trouble I'd love to know. Thanks.
