Patch 1.24, Issues.

Hi All -
I'm using an iMac with Snow Leopard, I have tried installing the patch and I get an error --Some files have been modified Please re-install.  
I looked at the error log and all but one is ok. This is the error  Examining file :/ Content/frameworks/versiontext -> SHA1 Error

Also when patch is installing it stops at  Verify ...Data/Shared/Packages/DeltaBuild2.package  and that's when I get the error that Some files have been modified  Please re-install

Does anyone have a clue?

edit: Also I have never had any CC or Mods, just official Sims3 Store site purchases and items from the Swap Shop

I was just getting ready to manually patch my game when it suddenly started working and within 3 minutes it was finished.  I'm about to fire up my game so I'll just have to cross my fingers that I didn't lose any files! Hope you all figure it out.

Anyone played CAW with this latest patch? I dare not to install it if it mess CAW, and patches usually do that. Can someone confirm me CAW is working with this latest update?

I was able to open CAW and then load a World I had started making ages ago.

And Edit in Game works too? I had hard time with patch that came with Generations (and many others too) so I'm careful. You don't have new SP right?

I have to say I had no problem downloading the patch straight from the launcher. I admit I've sent no-one abroad since Generations and Town Life has not yet arrived. I'm going to try and send a family to France and see what happens. Fingers crossed!

I don't know about that, it takes like half an hour to load Edit in Game mode for me. I have the patch but not the SP.

Edit worked for me. I was able to switch active households easily. But it was a new game... I have the patch but not the SP.

I want to share my latest experiences with this patch.

It totally broke my game. Totally. I reinstalled the whole thing up to five times during the past three days. Day and night, it wasn't working. My game was giving me ridiculous errors and multiple times it was complaining that "it encountered an error and has to shut down". Sick of all this, I was about to give up. Luckily, I tried reinstalling only the base game and update it for one last time -- worked. I'm patiently awaiting the purchase of the Town Life Stuff, and as you can guess I sincerely hope all this trouble was really worth it. Please tell me it was.

I had 2 different experiences, Fez.  In my dynasty file (which I started after Generations but before the latest patch) photography was still broken after the patch.  When I created a new file for my decadynasty (after the latest patch) photography seems to be working okay - except that my sims did not have any opportunities at the time, so I'm not 100% certain that the problem is fixed in new files.

I'm so sorry you're having such trouble, TCR, and I definitely feel your pain.  So far I've only been playing files that don't allow 'Edit Town' except under strict circumstances (e.g., dynasty and challenges), so I can't say for sure if it's worth it or not.  From pictures that I've seen, the new venues and the items they contain are really nice.  I think once I get over my anger and frustration with the patch I will quite enjoy this SP, but I'm not there yet.  Pam has been kind enough to post some pics of some of the content of the SP in the General Discussion area of the forum.

Thanks, Samoht, I'll wait a few days before updating, I don't want to risk much. Alieana, thanks you too, but I was refearing to Edit in Game that is part of CAW, not Edit Town

I was able to take a Photograph in my Dynasty where previously the Photographer just froze with the Action stuck, only being fixed through a Reset. This time however it processed and the photograph showed up in the Pictures tab.

I just uninstalled everything and re-installed.  I was then able to install patch. (I installed patch right after the first CD, Sims 3) A new game is running so far but I am now in the process of downloading all my store content.  I put back my userPresets.package which store my custom patterns and hair color and that is working fine.  
After I download all store content I will add back my saved games and post back to let you know if they work without any problems.  So far, so good, up to this point.

Post patch and photography does not work. I had to reset my sim. Shortly after that I had to save and quit, my family (RL) needed feeding. Went back into game later and my sim had totally disappeared! His wife was still there but could not stay in her bed she kept popping out. That particular game has been dumped, so my sims will not be going abroad again.
