Lol it was actually cool to wear glasses? Wow, I used to get teased about them. You know, the infamous four-eyes comments.  It used to bother me back then, now though I just laugh and say yeah I see better with my four eyes than you do with two!  Two watches on one wrist? Haha that does sound hilarious!

Wow!! I've had them ever since I remember. Actually, there is a picture of me and my brother, I think I was like 5, and I didn't have them. Every other picture after that though, I have them. I used to hate them, now though I've gotten so used to them it feels weird without them. I still don't love them, but at least I don't hate them anymore.

Another funny thing...  when my niece was in college (she's 42 now, so this was well over 20 years ago), it became so cool to wear glasses that she wore a pair that had just plain lenses.  No prescription.  Just blank lenses.  Hahaha!

Apparently people still do that! I'm actually liking the trend, it means the glasses I wear every day actually look fashionable rather than just neccesary. I do wear contacts every so often, but they're not as strong as my glasses and it's too irritating to do all the time. They're good for wowing people at formal events though.

I think that glasses can be worn as a fashion statement if you mean it that way.  Glasses don't suit me so I avoid my glasses (and I can cause it's just for long distance like looking at small writing on the whiteboard) and my sim-self when I finish making her/me will never have glasses. But there's a girl who goes to my school is known in her social circles for her "colourful emo" fashion statement, and though she had to wear the uniform at school, she still showed her style with her hairstyle and black thick rimed glasses.  That's the extreme example.  Heaps of people wear glasses and look great.  Just not me.

Oh, what a shame, NickyDuvyrda.  I hope you'll be able to fix whatever the problem is.  Meanwhile, we'll keep you on the guest list!   

Unfortunately I can't fix it. This is an issue between Apple and EA....sigh I wish there was a warning before I upgraded to OS X Lion. Sims 3 was supposed to run smoothly. Oh well enough dampening the party.

Maybe someone else could have a go at making your simself?  Just an idea.  I know it's not the same thing at all, but it might be worth considering.

I found my sim-self, and recreated my house as well, but unfortunately there's a bizarre issue with the house and I can't interact with anything inside of it.  It may be an issue with my marker placement (the house I live in is technically an apartment), but I have yet to figure it out.  But I did manage one screen shot in my front yard:



While I have tried to make sims who looked like real people before, I have failed dismally.  This means that the fact that I made a sim that looks like me while actually trying to make a sim that looked like me is nothing more than a remarkable coincidence.

Oh, wow, I've had glasses since I was a year old.  It's weird, as I think I look really strange without my glasses on, and I personally think I look better with them on.  And since contacts aren't an option anyway, it's probably good that I like my glasses.

I don't remember getting teased about my glasses in school, but they weren't cool, either.   And there's absolutely no way I can take my glasses off, I'm actually considered blind without them, so taking them off just doesn't enter into my head, except to sleep. (It's really annoying if I don't put them back in the same place at night -- I can't see well enough to find them and have to go pawing around my nightstand and/or bedroom to find them).
