Yeah, it was really nice!  I'd been thinking that I had made my Simself a bit better looking than I really am, but when she recognized me with no prompting and then went on to say the face looked just like me, I figured I must have done a better job with my Simself than I'd realized.  I'm glad I showed it to her.

I got to choose the middle name for my godmothers daughter. Little Charlotte Grace turned one this June.

To everyone who has struggled with making their Simself and not been completely satisfied with the results, here's an experience I've just had.  I was visiting a friend this afternoon.  She doesn't play Sims and has never been to this forum before.  I told her I had something to show her, and clicked on the first page of this thread.  I didn't tell her anything about what we were going to look at, so she had no idea what was coming. The minute she saw the picture, my friend exclaimed, "Oh!  It's you!"  I can't tell you how happy that reaction made me!

I had something similar.  I was making my SimSelf and my roommate came over, and her response was 'hey that looks a lot like you!'  I was pretty happy with that.

Opposite here, mine looks nothing like me.

My cousin pointed this out, so I said 'You try and make me then!' (he's quite good at playing TS3, and amazing at decor!)

I left him alone until he called me back, as he takes hours to make people. Apparently, I have green skin, messy pink and blue hair, unproportionately massive eyes and lips, and an extremely tiny nose. Oh, and I wear what I fondly call 'Nanny Bob' outfits, after my Great-Nan. Yeah, thanks Billy.

My mum watched (well, walked past occasionally) me make my sim self and family.  She said mine kind of looks like me.  My dad however I think I made his sim quite alike to the real person.  I find it easier to make other people than myself.

Same for me. I think I'm not honest enough to myself but I am more honest when I make other people.

I know everyone from facebook has said I did a good job, but I asked my oldest sister (the one that doesn't play) if the picture looked like me. She looked at it and said yes it does, so I'm very happy about that! When my older sister was pregnant, she knew her baby's first name was going to be Miracle, but she wasn't sure of a middle name, so I said Rose, (which is mine) and she said ok. So my niece's name is Miracle Rose and my name is Esther Rose!

This thread has been languishing a bit lately, so I thought I'd post a reminder that the Forum's Birthday - the occasion for our party - is one week from today, on August 31.  If you haven't shared a picture of your simself you have a week to do it.  There are 45 people here so far, if my count is correct, and it would be lovely to have others join us.  Special invitation to any new members who might like to attend the forum's birthday party!

Hey, Schip!  Thanks for the invite.  I'm sorry to say I won't be able to attend.  I will be in Seattle designing my RL son's landscaping using Sims.  True!  He saw what I did here and asked if I could and I foolishly said yes, so I'll be spending most of that week and long weekend with him, which is absolutely no hardship, working out what he's going to do.  I am so excited about it!   Sorry to miss the party though.  I know you all will have a great time!  Oh, I'm sending along some pasta prima vera via special courier so you all don't starve, and a key lime pie.
