Books that the Sims Read
« on: July 14, 2011, 08:07:33 PM »
I've noticed that quite a few members of the Forum list "bookworm" among their traits and consider they have some skill at writing. So I was thinking that we could perhaps come up with some synopses of those books the Sims are always reading. What happens in The Warlock of Palladia?
Who is the Mummy in love with? And what kind of adventures did Raymundo have?

Here is my blurb for Demand Excellence or You'll Get Mediocrity:

"This is the inspirational memoir of the former food critic for the Bridgeport Simsonian, Guy R. May, who says his life changed when he was served a Baked Angel Food Cake that was less than perfect. 'The candles on the tables throughout the restaurant flickered when I inhaled in shock,' writes May. 'I could see my life flash before my eyes. I resolved then to make it my mission that this should never happen to anyone else, and I began writing this book.'"

Not so much a summary as a possible advertisement.

"Read the hot new book of the summer - actually, of all seasons! A Magnetic Attraction has been described as spellbinding, can't-put-downable, and is the kind of book you'll want to read over and over. You'll want to read it when you can't sleep at night, or when your toilet is broken. You'll love to read it while family members are fighting all around you. It's so good, you'll sit down and read it even if your wife is heading to the hospital to have a baby! How can you not buy this book? A Magnetic Attraction, available now. Keep it in YOUR inventory!"

I'll try one for 'A Magnetic Attraction':
On one side there are two hearts, two bodies, two souls. On the other, there is pain, suffering, and guilt. But when love and disaster collide, what is left of the two Sims? Can foolish lust really blossom to become true love-or is there much to be desired in this secret longing?

Yeah, it needs improvement. :D I'm not one of the writers, really.

@jessie, sounds good to me!

@peregrine -- this really made me laugh because it's so true. When my bookworm was going for 50 books, she'd keep reading A Magnetic Attraction instead.

I know you mean to be funny, but sometimes (like this case) I find your posts a bit to bold.

I will start The History of Socks:

Socks have evolved over the centuries from the earliest models which were made from animal skins gathered up and tied around the ankles. In the 8th century BC, the Ancient Greeks wore socks from matted animal hair for warmth. The Romans also wrapped their feet with leather or woven fabrics. By the 5th century AD, socks called "puttees" were worn by holy people in Europe to symbolise purity. By 1000 AD, socks became a symbol of wealth among the nobility. From the 16th century onwards, an ornamental design on the ankle or side of a sock has been called a clock.

The invention of a knitting machine in 1589 meant that socks could be knitted six times faster than by hand. Nonetheless, knitting machines and hand knitters worked side by side until 1800.

The next revolution in sock production was the introduction of nylon in 1938. Until then socks were commonly made from silk, cotton and wool. Nylon was the start of blending two or more yarns in the production of socks, a process that still continues.

Wikipedia rocks!  :)

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

That's a great idea! I have a contribution.
I just finished the greater part of the book. Or should I say extremely small part?  :)

You never know what will turn up. I now have learned more about socks, and I can find pi to the 200th place or so. Thanks, Zapkid and Leto! Not only that, but where Bella is, and what happens to people who deny llamas their rights.

"When to Rave and when to Riot" - Criminal Career Book.

Rave when you're happy.
Riot when you're not.
The end. (What do you mean, you wanted more? This is a career book. And criminal's don't read!)
