How to have a great date?
« on: July 08, 2011, 12:20:05 PM »
Sorry if this is in a wrong section or if the problem has already been discussed.

My problem is: I can't make my two Sims have a great date together. Once it was a bad one and they got the Bad Date negative moodlet, while the second was simply average e.g. no moodlets. The thing is, I have done anything that could (possibly) make it great. Had them visit a cafe, lounge, even dive bar, dance, flirt, kiss, watch a movie, but, still, it is not great enough! I couldn't make them woohoo because, well, she was pregnant at the time and it would be, err, inappropriate. I don't know what else to do to get that darn moodlet. Can anyone help me? Thanks in advance.

Was she pregnant with her date? Or, er, someone else. How is their friendship level?

I start out with dinner, then watch the stars, then go to a club dancing (one that has Romantic drinks), then flirting while drinking the Romantic drink, then amorous hug, then kissing, complimenting appearance, hold hands, then enbrace, then make out and (if possible, WooHoo). Had many great dates.

They are married. And the baby is (or was) his. :P I did all of those, but still either bad or average. Well, except the woohoo. :(

EDIT: The relationship bar is maxed.

Strange! My sims are also married and all their wishes are for WooHoo (kind of a damper, because that's all they want to do), so the dates are great (although the first date which was the man trap date; his response was "Roses are red...I thought that was great, how about you).  Do they have some incompatible traits? Also, I noticed that they need to interact outside of romance. Play games together, or just go out dancing together. The more they spend time together, regardless, the more they WANT to spend time together and the more they are attracted to each other. My sims in a short time got the reputation of "Eternally Faithful") because they did everything together.

My sims always have a great. I just let them make out 'till it's time to leave. Or sometimes Watch the Stars really works. Well, the one thing that comes to mind is have they been mad at  each other recently. Mine always leave "Roses are red violets are blue, I thought this date was great! How bout you?" or "You and me sitting in a tree... Oh did I just just say that out loud? Don't mind me!"
So have they been mad at each other?

Hmm. It must be reputation, then. They are together for only a Sim week (so far). Actually, I just remembered that the last date has ended with the husband biting a Sim (they are both vampires and he was very thirsty). And she had the "Lethargic" moodlet (very tired). No, they have compatible traits, sign, etc. Even favorite food! (obviously). Is there a way to cut a date short so that they can "escape" the not-so-fancy moments?

My sims always have a great. I just let them make out 'till it's time to leave. Or sometimes Watch the Stars really works. Yes, they have been mad at each other! They even had a fire the past night and the wife was screaming at the husband. So that must be it... Hm.. Oh, and by the way, he was Publicly Disgraced as well.

But now they can't go on a third date! The option to "Ask Out on Date" is grayed out and says "after a bad date you need to wait before going on another one" or something alike. :(

Hey Fez, it sure does! My first kiss was age 6 at a Catholic school playground during recess. Both the boy (who iniated it) and I were sent home.

My first kiss was in Japan, I was 13 and at a Coming of Age parade, and a boy came up and kissed- he thought I was his girlfriend, lol.

Hey, Young love! You never forget it! Now I'm in a "Eternally Faithful" relationship, and the early days haven't been forgotten.

Beat this: My first kiss was when I was 2. Seriously. Mum never fails to go on about my first 'boyfwend' at nursery, a little blond boy called Connor who I vaguely remember and who I was 'with' till I was four. We talked about bumblebees and the colour blue together, and always held hands and kissed each other. He moved away before we started Primary school though, lol. ::)

Okay, this is beyond off topic, now. Chronic, I just tried a test in-game where I had two dates. I did the same social interactions, etc, the only difference was that one of the sims was in a slightly bad mood in one of the dates, where in the other date they were both elated. Same interactions, but the date where the guy was in a bad mood came out as an 'average' date. Not a bad one, though, so it can't be to do with moods or moodlets, although that definitely puts the likeliness of a good date down..

Hmm, it does seem that moods affect dates. I'll have them sleep and have a plasma snack before they head out, lol. Thanks Fez. :)

I wonder why your dates are bad though, and not just average, like mine?

Well, looking back on it, I can say that they had conflicting traits at the time, but I changed those of the husband with cheats. So there, that must be it.

ETA: Only one of the dates, the first one (when they had conflicting traits) was marked as bad.
