How do you make that crazy amount of money?

In Pam's Dreamweaver dynasty, Metro's Man dynasty, and probably more than half of the dynasties made, the family ends up with a crazy amount of money. My question is: How is this done? Is it having multiple sims at Level 10 of their careers?

It's primarily because it goes for 8 generations.  You almost can't help but be rich after that much time.  Many of the skills bring in money:  painting, sculpting, nectar making, instruments, etc.  Level 10 careers make a lot of money.  Then, of course, there's the Money Tree groves.

Besides that, try using the subway system - play for tips there. I made my legacy founder a musician and this way she is earning much money. Use the consignment store as well. But the main trick is.. play Metro's challenges. You'll eventually learn a few tricks that will help you henceforth.

The dynasty requirement that each generation must purchase a building and a property helps too.  Those rents really add up over time.

My favorite ways to make money are venues, money tree groves, painting, and writing. If you really work at it, you can make an insane amount of money in royalties when you have a really good writer in the family. Painting is somewhat easier though, because they keep themselves entertained, while writing stresses them out.

There comes a point to where the expensive part of a Dynasty:  building, is finished.  Once the house is built and furnished, the money just builds up.

Well, in dynasties you need somebody to paint portraits. While getting to level 7 of the painting skill, you can make a lot of money.
And with every generation, you do opportunites, a career, etc.
Nice cars help too. *cough, Agnes, cough*

My wealthy Sims reached where they are by working up to Level 10 of their careers, achieving their LTW, getting the "No Bills" reward once it is available (cheap at 15,000 simoleons), plant money trees, when they had so much money they didn't know what to do with it, they started buying businesses, they practically own Pleasantview, the simoleons just kept pouring in after that! Good luck!

I think you mean 15,000 Happiness points, not simoleons.  Otherwise, I totally agree with everything you said, athena!

The No Bills Ever lifetime reward came with World Adventures and is only available to those who have the expansion pack.

It's added with World Adventures because of having all those relics on your homelot and completed collectibles really make your house expansive to pay all the bills.

I don't have a dynasty (I've failed 3 times.) but I do have a household with 8 sims that I've been playing for a long time.  And there is so much money than I know what to do with! I have bought Twinbrook completly and there are still over 400,000 (I haven't collected money). I had money trees for a while, when my sim's gardening increased and she fertilized it with the best ones she got over 1000 in each money bag. Also keeping up with your Sim's skills for their job and their boss usually pays off. The klepto trait helps alot. And I would recommend picking up the painting skill and guitar. But play the guitar in a Subway! (Assuming you have LN.)

Still busy with my own Supersim challenge I have played through 10 generations already without having one having the No Bills Ever thing. I just don't like that.
Almost every generation did had a steady job so they have to go to their work which resulted eventually in a very very rich family. At this right moment they posesses $1,000,215 on their bank account and are living in a house worth nearly $200.000 or so.
Ones Supersim will be born he is the one who will make a lot of money because of all the skills he has to max and jobs to improve to level 10. Not even if I wanted it: my sims are this way 'doomed' or 'blessed' to become fulthy rich.
