Imaginary Friend Hidden Trait

I've read on Simwiki that the hidden trait the imaginary friend has, which makes him who he is, can be passed on to their children. I am curious about info from people who has experienced this.

The following info is what I've find myself on Simwiki:

The Imaginary Friend hidden trait can be found in Sims who are Imaginary Friend.
 
■ An Imaginary Friend can switch from "doll mode" to "Sim mode" and vice versa if they already drink Imaginary Friend Metamorphium potion.
■ An Imaginary Friend before drink Imaginary Friend Metamorphium potion, they cant be seen by another Sim except the owner of the doll.
■This hidden trait is passed on to their children.
■ Has no game icon.

All the above statements are true, in my experience. But I think he has a game icon, coz an icon showed up in the owner Sim's relationship (bar?) when the IF became his Best Friend, before that he has no icon. In his icon, you can see his traits there, some known and some still unknown to the owner Sim.

Occasionally when I play, the icon for the imaginary friend turns into the face of a sim. I'm assuming that that's what he would look like as a sim if he drank the potion? And I'm not positive, but I think I've had an imaginary friend show up in the relationship panel before they became best friends. I think they were only friends.
