Change the lot to community/library and make sure that you have a 40x30 lot. I put the library up on the bluff where Wolf Manor (in SV) sits. It's a 40x40 lot so I had extra room.

That's the perfect place for it! Thanks! Works really well there.

Simstar3, have you had any luck getting the library into your game yet?  If not, maybe you can delete it out of your installed content from the launcher, then re-download it from your purchase history and re-installing it.

It's very strange Simstar. I've downloaded this set today and it was the first building in the Show Community Lots that I saw. I've placed it on 17 Maywood Lane in Sunset Valley, after I've changed the lottype to residental library.

At least now I've got the set I can try to help you if you still didn't succeeded in it yourself.

Is this library opened to all townies as well? Can I use this library exclusive only for my household or no?

Yes, it is open for all townies. But normally you could change a lot type to No Visitors Allowed, to prevent visitors from ariving there, but I am not sure if that is possible with a library as that lot already has a functional type. You could try it and let me know if it worked.
Oh, and welcome to the forum by the way, as I'm almost certain I haven't see you around here before.

I also can't find the library, I have tried to find it with the filter, and searched cc, store content and all of stuff I have. It is not in the bin or the build and buy/ community objects icon.

Where in the library can I find the spell book? I asume it must be there somewhere but if it is I'm either blind or overlooking things.

I didn't find one so I put it in myself. If one is already there I missed it.

Hello!

I also just bought this Gothic Library and had trouble installing it. Here is what I did to finally get it in the game:

I had to install it from My documents/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Downloads, opening the file GothicLibraryset.Sims3Pack and I found it in the launcher afterwards under the funny name "2". But as I used a saved game after this, I could not find it though I did have the other components of the package ready to buy. This time, I could not find it in my launcher while I was within the game.

I quit the game and started the whole thing again. Though I got "the package is already installed", I had the lot installed again in my downloads. Then I started the game again, started a new game, went to modify the town and cool, I had it in my commercial lots. I installed it, made a copy for the lots library, and when I opened my saved games I had it, with both the "2" copy and my saved copy in my commercial lots library.

Hope this will help.

Wow Melusane, that's one big list to get it worked. Did it take you long to figure that out?

Welcome to the forum. Really nice nickname.

Ah thank you. That's sweet. I feel flatterd that your second post is a compliment to me. :)

At other persons: Is it normal that my sim need to repeat the magic spells like for eternity? I didn't know sims could forget things so easily. Now I feel more attouched to this game in another way than I could expect.

I'm courius, just what are the spells that come with the spell book.  This isn't something I have gotten, yet, but I am considering it.  I just hope a future expansion might be more magic focused.

From what I directly remember you can summon strangers to your house as well as increasing or decreasing their moods. I thought you also can curse them so they will behave like animals for a short period of time. The stranger you summon is randomly, unfortuniatly. Otherwise you could force that sim which declied your invitation to stop by. :P
