I bought the Gothic Library that lets sims use magic. Does the actual library appear in-game?

I'd think it would be in the lot bin in Edit Town.

It may be like the Dr. Pepper promotion buildings then.  If you go to edit town, click on whatever commercial lot you want to put the library on then choose the build/buy/edit lot option.  Go to buy mode, then look under community objects.  I can't look at my game right now to give you the definite path to the buildings, I am sorry.  I will open my game later and give you better directions, if you weren't able to find it.

In buy mode, it is in the entertainment and hobbies section, where the football is.  I had a hard time finding it, because I just bought the podium and it said home decor, so I assumed it was under that. :)

Hey Simstar, I have find a video on YouTube about this item.
You can see in the beginning where to get the item, but you have to pauze the vid because it has been speeded up.

Edit: When you've figured out more about this item, would you please share your findings here Simstar? I would love to find out more about this.

My understanding is Simstar can't find the library, not the spell book, but the actual building.  Which one are you looking for?

I just loaded up my game and went looking.  At first I could not find it.  Then I realized that I had not installed it in my game, oops. So next time you play, open up your download dashboard and make sure it is installed.  From there, I found mine in Edit Town, Show Community Lots.  It is not named properly in my game.  It is called 2 (Library).  It also shows up with the asterisk for custom content, not as a store item.

Magic? For real? I hope it's decent. The original Sims had the best magic expansion pack. I loved being able to get the pet dragon and decimate people in duels. The Sims 2 Apartment Life magic failed in comparison. I was hoping EA would do a full-fledged magic expansion for Sims 3 and make it as fun as Sims Makin Magic. I can't believe that they're only doing an online sale for it though! Someone needs to post their findings about this magic-ness. I'm wondering if it'd even be worth the 1200 points.

Checked again, and it's not there.
It's definitely installed, because the book is in buy mode. :-\

There is a thread about what the new experiences with additional gameplay items.  Here is a link.

I will keep thinking, but I am at a loss on ideas of what to do right now.

Thanks, gerrr. I'd only just heard of this when I checked out the new posts for today. I'm kinda thinking it's not worth the money for it, though. Only 5 spells? Kind of less than satisfying.
