Sparring problem

I visited China for the first time with two sims. One learned martial arts very quickly (she has the disciplined trait) and reached lv 10 while still in China. So I tried to spar with another sim, but I couldn't. The option wasn't listed and I was sure the other sim could do it because he had a blue belt. So I thought: "Maybe I need to make a phone call to participate in the championship." So I called someone, but I could not spar with him too, though I called him so I know he has at least a few levels in the martial arts skill. Any help?

Getting to spar with someone is one of those bizarre things. It took me a while to figure out as well. If you get on the phone to invite the next ranked opponent over, they show up, and then you click on that Sim you will not see the proper Social. You have to go over and introduce your Sim to them first, and then the Social becomes available. It's an extra step and kind of annoying.

Are you certain the person that showed up is indeed the next ranked opponent? Make the call again, and note the name when the message comes up. Then, when the person shows up mouse over the person to make sure they are the right one. Because if you're doing this at the Academy it has a lot of traffic in and out and it's not hard to make a mistake.

No, it was at the base camp. I already tried calling again and it said: DotDotDot is already here or something. So I tried finding the sim who was my opponent but I still couldn't spar with him.

Hmmm...this is confusing. The only other thing that comes to mind is fatigue or being too tired. If your opponent showed up fatigued or really tired, then maybe the Social would not be available.

Possibly. But it does not explain why I can't spar with ANY sim...

That might be it! My sim was pregnant, but she became so in China so it wasn't visible. Although it's not visible, may this be the problem?

Yup, pregnant sims can't spar, you can't also spar with them, There was one time where my next ranking sparing match was non-visibly pregnant and thus i was unable to continue fighting
