Wedding Surprises Are Interesting

Before Mindy was able to see her girls graduate and start their lives, Grimm came for her. Sam was on his way out for a jog when he came upon Mindy gracefully shaking hands with him. We all knew the day was fast approaching but there's no easy way to deal with the shock and pain when it does happen. Left alone in his grief, Sam decided against his jog and Grimm gave himself a tour of our house.

The next few days were mixed with grief over Mindy's passing and excitement over the girls' graduation. Both girls dealt with their pain in their own way but it was more apparent with Jessie, she'd taken to baking more often and it was starting to show. With everyone's moods in extreme fluctuations, Jessie was having a hard time coping with the passing of her mother, the start of her adult life and the changes her body was making. I sat her down one night and explained that even though we have the body sculptor, it wasn't something she could always turn to. The night before graduation, she decided that this trip to the body sculptor would be her last. She was going into the cooking profession and would be around temptation everyday. If she couldn't find someone to love her for all that she was, then he wasn't worth her time. After hearing her rant, I became very concerned about our families dynasty. Our family has been lucky so far with spouses, I can only hope that the same luck will pass on with Jessie.

After things had settled down, I had a surprise of my own. One night Matthew made his first appearance since passing, it was wonderful to see him again, to just be held in his arms once more. I don't know how many more visits we'll get from him but each night I lay in bed waiting to see if he'll make his way back to me.

Sam's elder birthday came more quickly than I realized it would, it seems like just yesterday he was learning to walk and talk. I must say that I am quite proud of my son, he's pushed forward with everything he needs to complete his part of our dynasty and he's nearly done. He only has a few more miles to jog and he'll be well on his way to sitting down for his first ambrosia with me.

One night I sent Jessie out to collect our business earnings and she ran into a young man named Alfred Paxton at Hogan's. She came home a bit later than usual with stars in her eyes and walked like she was on cloud nine. It seems that Hogan's still hold a bit of luck for our family, that was where Matthew and I shared many special moments before we began our life together. The next night Jessie was out again with Gabriel, I have a sneaking suspicion that if I was to call Hogan's to check in on the business, that I'd be told that Jessie already had taken care of everything.

And as I suspected, it wasn't long before we had wedding bells ringing for our family. My only regret is that poor Alexia will never have her own special day, it's really not fair to have to watch your sister have everything that you should have as well. I sincerely hope that for the sake of our family that twins are never born again, it's just too heartbreaking to watch the younger twin be denied.

Jessie was married at Bridgeport Acres, the same place we'd bought and setup for Sam and Mindy's wedding. Like Mindy, she chose to wear the wedding dress and veil that was passed down from Mindy's mother. I feel this will end up being a Hauptman tradition for many years to come, all families need their traditions.

Alexia looked sad during the whole ceremony. If there was a way to give her what she so desperately wants, I would without any hesitation. Grimm made an appearance at the wedding, we're not too sure who passed on as we didn't close the venue down for the night. I was not happy with Grimm deciding he needed to make himself at home and look for his next victim.

But just as I was about to make my feelings known on the situation, we had another one arise that none of us were ready for. Upon Jessie and Alfred getting married, she became a step-mom to Alfred's nearly young adult daughter Kylee. When I pulled Jessie aside and asked who the child's mother was and why she didn't tell any of us about her, she just shook her head and said it didn't matter, Alfred was who she wanted to be with and Kylee was part of who he is.

Like I mentioned before, Kylee was nearly a young adult. This wasn't something that I would have ever imagined would happen and it doesn't seem fair to bring in another child to our dynasty that can't have a full life. But it's given new life to Alexia to have someone that will go through the same things she's going through, to have someone understand the pain of never having everything you want. Little did I know that Alexia and Kylee had other things in mind for their lives. The day of Kylee's graduation, Alexia dropped to one knee and asked her to share her life with her. Looks like Alexia will finally have the wedding she's been dreaming of and their lives won't be as hard as I feared.

Kylee has decided to go into the medical profession, she understands that her and Alexia will never have a family of their own and this is her way of being able to care for children in need. Sam finally managed to get his last few miles of jogging in and sat down for his first ambrosia with me. He wasn't too fond of the dish but he said it might be an acquired taste.

Jessie and Gabriel have been busy little bees, Gabriel has gone into law enforcement for his career and they've already made way with starting their family. Before we knew it, we had a very pregnant Jessie. She's only managed to progress to a vegetable slicer at work, but she's been keeping up on her skills at home. One night she was working on a new dish when the labor pains started, unlike everyone else in our family, Jessie decided to have a home birth. Luckily, it was a short labor and not as painful as it could have been. Jessie gave birth to Gabriel in the kitchen of all places but I've never seen her happier than the moment she held him in her arms.

And as all babies do, they grow quite quickly. With all the stuff going on in our family, Jessie decided that his first birthday would be a family occasion. This little one has a lot of work ahead of him, good thing he was born with the genius trait because we have a brand new chess table waiting to be used.

Aww thanks TCR! Things are moving along at a snails pace for me, I've not had a lot of play time lately. Hopefully I'll have another update within the next week or so.

Lazy Days of Summer

The house has been pretty easy paced, no one is rushing to get any goals done and everyone has gotten into the stride of enjoying the present. The girls have been spending nights outside playing with the water slide, I swear it's nearly torture trying to pull them away.

Kylee is progressing wonderfully in her profession, much as we anticipated mind you. She really is wonderful with children but for some reason her boss never sets her up with children appointments. Lately, it's been odd vaccinations in the strangest places. Kylee is a trooper though, she never complains, one day she'll be able to open her own clinic.

In my spare time I've started working more towards my gem collection. The Immortal museum we started in the basement was just too plain, we added on a family entertainment area filled with games and musical instruments. For me, that still wasn't enough, I added an enclosure in the back for all our collectibles and that is where my gems are going.

Gabriel has had all the training any of us can think to give him. The whole house is excitedly planning his birthday party, well not the whole house. Alfred is taking his growing up a little hard, he says it seems like just yesterday that Jessie was still pregnant. Well enough of that! I have a very special surprise in store for my little Gabe and it can't wait much longer.

As it turns out, my special surprise took a day longer than we were hoping for. Thankfully it didn't take any longer or we would have missed the whole point of it being a birthday surprise. The morning of Gabriel's party I got a phone call from Renee Littler letting me know that my "package" was ready to pick up. Who on earth calls a puppy a package? I'll never understand the way vampires view things in the world. Renee was giving off vibes of wanting to sit around and chat. I really wasn't feeling chatty, more like food so, I politely explained that I had to run to the store for all the things little Ollie would need and we were off.

Gabriel's party was another family affair, the house has been too serene to add in the mixed drama from outsiders. Poor Alfred still seems lost, then again he was muttering about smelling a dog in the house and sniffing the air around him. I still haven't told anyone about the puppy, hopefully no one has allergies.

As soon as Gabriel was whisked away by the girls for his new look, I went and got the puppy out of my bedroom. Alfred gave me a knowing look and said I shouldn't have tried to tell him that he should make a doctors appointment for his delusions and smelling problem. All I could do was grin and shush Alfred, I wanted to see the look of surprise on my little Gabe's face.

The next day was the twin's birthdays, they both had to work the early shift so Kylee was planning a birthday party in the evening. Unfortunately, she forgot to invite anyone other than her co-workers and she has a very strained relationship with all three of them. Alexia said it didn't matter and she enjoyed time with our family more than anything else. I've never seen anyone so excited to have a birthday as I saw with Alexia tonight, I have a feeling it's more about something else than getting older. Jessie on the other hand was trying to sneak away, when will that girl learn that she's can't escape her birthday?

Gabriel's first day of school went off without a hitch, he was so excited to finally be able to be in a learning environment and make friends that he forgot to tell anyone in the house goodbye. I managed to get out on the porch and grab a picture as he hightailed it to the school bus.

After hearing Jessie calm Alfred down with another of his "Gabe's growing too fast" rants through the cracked door, I decided to head out to the backyard and start drilling for more gems. Yes, I know that Sam can easily break spacerocks for them but, I really do enjoy the fuss I cause when the miner is being used. The first hole gained me another gnome, we're starting to have an army of the creepy little things.

The second hole seemed just as unproductive, another gnome! But then as I started moving the miner to another spot I heard the faintest voice that sounded like my Papa. What on earth is going on? As soon as I got the miner completely moved from the hole I realized that this wasn't your everyday hole, it was glowing! Too bad the glow had a weird effect on me, the closer I got to it, the more wobbly my knees became and I found myself flat on my back with no recollection of how I got there. Well, that only leaves one thing to do, if my Papa's voice is coming from that hole then I have to go in and find out what's going on.

Hmm, this should be easy if I just take my time and watch what I'm doing. Oh no! What on earth is causing me to lose the use of my legs like this, I really hope I don't pass out again. Maybe if I yell for help someone can get me out of here and we'll figure out this mystery another way. Or maybe not, where is everyone? Then as it was my luck, Ollie came around the corner with the most quizzical look on his face. I was doomed.

No problems at all since I got the pet training fixed. Was a bit odd to have control of that many sims again though.

After I made it back from exploring the hole, which was very uneventful if I do say so myself, I came across Gabe getting homework help from Sam. He never seems too interested in learning his Grandpa's logic but, he always asks him for help before anyone else.

Jessie isn't taking aging well, nearly everyday before work someone finds her in the bathroom looking for wrinkles that don't exist. One day I managed to snap of picture of her during her vanity check. If it wasn't for Alfred holding her back from me, I don't think I would have made it out of there with the camera intact.

One night after a long day in the kitchen, Jessie super maxed her cooking by baking a cobbler for that nights desert. Everyone told her it was the best they'd ever tasted but she said it was nonsense and was just like all the others she'd made before.

After dinner, Alexia and Kylee told us that they decided that this was the weekend they wanted to get married. Once all the fuss was over, Jessie took her sister aside and told her that she wanted to help her with the fittings for their mothers wedding dress. Alexia got that look on her face, the one where she's thinking very hard what to say so she doesn't hurt anyone’s feelings. After a deep breath she explained to Jessie that she had found her own dress and didn't feel right wearing their mothers dress. Alexia went on to say that the dress should be passed down to first born Hauptman girls so it would be keeping with tradition. At first Jessie was confused and upset that her sister didn't want to have a piece of their mother with her on her wedding day but, Alfred came to the rescue once again and distracted Jessie.

With such short notice for planning a wedding, the house was in an uproar. The men had it fairly easy, the wedding venue was the same we'd used for Jessie and Alfreds' wedding. All they had to do was go down and check the storage to make sure nothing needed repairing and give everything a quick clean. Since Jessie and Kylee had both already bought their dresses all we had to do was go over little details to make their day special and make a million phone calls to invite everyone.

The day of the wedding went off without a hitch, every single thing went as planned until the reception took place. Both brides looked beautiful and so much in love, being able to finally see Alexia have her day made the heartache of seeing her on Jessie's day fade away.

But like I'd mentioned earlier, the reception took a turn for the worst. After the cake was cut and everyone was chatting, Grimm decided to come for Elvin Gossett who was in a deep discussion with Jessie about a new dish she was creating. Poor little Gabe happened to be coming up to his mother as this occurred, Kylee quickly whisked him away and let death do his thing.

Afterward the mood for most guests had turned sour, but seeing as this night only happens once, Jessie and Kylee took to the dance floor while Sam felt the need to workout in the background.

The worst part of the night wasn't seeing Grimm, though I have a sneaking suspicion that he had something to do with my first exposure to the mining holes. Oh no, the worst part was that during all the wedding hubbub we forgot about Gabe's birthday. Of course Gabe being who he is, didn't want to take away from his Aunts' wedding day and didn't mention a thing to anyone. At one point during the reception he asked Jessie if he could take the subway home because he was tired, instead he was sneaking off so no one would realize it was his birthday. But he wasn't alone, Ollie not wanting to leave her boy behind dutifully chased after him.

Unfortunately, he grew into the most hideous hair style which he remedied as soon as he got home.

After sending the two brides home, we all stayed behind to clean up the park. Jessie and Alfred ended up sneaking off on their own halfway through, most likely to reminisce their own wedding night. Sam and I finished cleaning up, locked up the wedding supplies into storage and headed home.

The next morning at dawn we had a surprise that most of the household slept through. Gabe was up working with his chemistry set in his new room when he saw someone sneak in through our front gate. Not wanting to wake the house up, he decided that he could take care of it own his own and rushed outside to confront the intruder. Sam, who was just waking up for his normal morning run heard the door close and looked out his window. He saw Gabe go running up with arms waving and yelling at the intruder and knew poor little Gabe couldn't handle it on his own.

Sam took off after him and gave the intruder and pretty brutal beating. Hopefully once word gets around about what happened, since the paparazi was snapping shot after shot, we won't have too many more people going after my gem collection.

Things in our house have been smooth as of late. Alexia and Kylee opted out of taking a honeymoon to focus on their careers more. Kylee is only one promotion away from becoming a World Renowned Surgeon. Alexia has been working on maxing her logic and charisma, as well as giving lectures during class time nearly everyday. Sam spends most of his time between work, training time with Ollie and breaking space rocks to help my gem collection. Alfred is nearly at the top of his career as well, he's not as focused on reaching the top like the girls are. Instead he's taking a liking to sculpting and has become quite good if I do say so myself. I have to admit I am a bit worried about Jessie, she's doing everything as she should be and has nearly all her Immortal requirements completed but, she's just not getting the opportunities rolling in like the rest of us do. Gabe is attached to the hip with a girl he met in school named Deborah Ebert. She seems friendly enough, sadly I haven't had a lot of time to get to know her even though she is over at the house nearly everyday.

When Gabe isn't with Deborah, you can usually find him up in his room working on new potion discoveries. Most days he causes such a ruckus up there that you never quite know how well it's going. One day, I heard a loud bang and started smelling smoke, luckily nothing much was on fire other than Gabe. Even more lucky was the fact that I got up there quick enough to get a picture of what he did to himself. He wasn't too pleased when I told him this would make a great addition to his museum pieces.

Birthdays in our house don't really hold much celebration these days, seems we've had too many and everyone just lets them pass on by. I have a feeling this will change once Gabe settles down and starts the next generation. Alfred aged up into a fine gentleman and is still chipping away at the blocks on my sculpting station. It's sad really, I think he's surpassed even my expertise even though we are equally trained. I'm not ready to let this one go, I know we have no choice but he's really been the perfect match for our Jessie.

Gabe finally mustered up the courage to ask Deborah to go steady, he was a nervous mess the whole day leading up to her coming over. Thank goodness it was a weekend or his studies would have plummeted.

He really tries to be so private about his love life, sneaking around in the yard stealing kisses when he thinks no one is watching them.

I think the paparazzi are secretly being funded by the mob in Bridgeport. I've recently start working on specialized cuts for my gem collection, the only ones that know how vast the collection has grown is our family. But yet again we had another burglar show up. It has to be a secret plot, they're overhearing Sam and I talk about what we've been working on and reporting it back to the mob. There's no way else that anyone would ever know about our museum underneath the house. Unfortunately Sam didn't get to give this one a good beating, I had to call the police in and they had a squad car not even a mile from the house.

Re: The Hauptman Immortal Dynasty V2 - Vampire Paranoia
« Reply #29 on: January 10, 2012, 05:50:16 AM »
Another day, another birthday. Gabe has finally received his passing grades and is set to graduate the day after his birthday. He said he feels like this has been a long time coming, the rest of us feel as if he was still in diapers yesterday. He's informed the family that as soon as Deborah has her birthday that he intends to propose but, isn't planning on moving in together or getting married right away. Kylee quickly let him know that he was making a mistake by putting off moving in together. Apparently the vampire outreach program is recruiting in full force with newly graduated adults. Gabe is fairly certain that Deborah has no interest in that crowd but Kylee's said she's treated way too many that didn't know what they were getting into until it was too late.

Graduation went off without a hitch, Gabe was class valedictorian and voted most likely to get married. The only disappointment of the day was Deborah wasn't in the same graduating class. Gabe was more positive about it than we expected, he said it gives him time to focus on finishing his potion discoveries and maxing his logic skill.

Within a few days Gabe got a surprise, he called up Deborah and was planning on spending the day tutoring her in logic, as he had been since graduating, and she showed up looking quite grown up.

All plans that Gabe had got thrown out the window and they spent the day gazing into each others eyes followed by star searching once the sun had set.

As the night grew later Gabe made his move and asked Deborah to to marry him, from the look on her face she definitely didn't see that coming so quickly. Thankfully she said yes and decided to spend the night, I don't think the two of them would be easily separated at this point.

During all the is he or isn't he proposing commotion, we'd once again passed up a birthday, two in fact. Jessie and Alexia both aged gracefully into elders as the next generation of Hauptmans were just beginning their lives. Jessie was whisked off for her first taste of ambrosia after her final museum pieces were completed a few hours later.

Kylee, still concerned about losing Deborah to the vampires decided to take matters into her own hands. As Gabe had sat down for a game a chess, Kylee pulled Deborah away and convinced her that since she's part of the family now she might as well make the next step and move on in. Deborah agreed and made a tentative phone call to her parents to let them know she was moving out.

Gabe didn't seem too upset with Kylee, he still thinks she was overreacting and making a fuss out of nothing. Deborah moving in lit a bit of a fire under the girls, they all rushed her off for a makeover since Deborah mentioned that her graduation was taking place in the morning.

Deborah ended up graduating with merit and was voted most artistic by her class. As a graduation present Gabe gave her a new car which was painted pink to match her new makeover. He also handed her two plane tickets and said that their next adventure was to take a vacation with just the two of them.

After all the birthdays, graduations, promotions and life in general I'm sure looking forward to a bit of peace for a little while. Fortunately, with the kids taking off on their own for a bit we'll get just that. Unfortunately, since our house is now at it's capacity due to the rules of our dynasty, one must pass before the next generation is brought in. I don't think anyone else has realized this yet and I'm hoping no one does. I don't want to live the next few weeks waiting for the doom and gloom to come.
