Boarding school counting as sims death
« on: June 28, 2011, 10:43:20 AM »
Maxine Skills was heading to boarding school while she has The Jamboree in her inventory. I immediately got this message:

'Maxine's The Jamboree has been sold for $2,700 due to sim death.'

I assume the military school could be hard, but 'due to sim death?' Isn't that a little excessive?

Poor Maxine! Maybe I'll skip Military school if they push the kids too hard! LOL!

I won't. I'm too much waiting for that free Salute interaction.
And she will do wonderful as a fireman later on also, so no way I will skip that. :)

They can die in Military School? That's horrible! It's extreme, in a bad way.  :'(

No no no, she didn't really die. I can tell because of all the beginning messages if she please may return home (which I denied). But the message for selling that vehicle was so weird that I had to inform you all.

Yes, I thought already you have someone in military which was why I needed to reply to you that fast.
I'm almost sure that a sim can't die while on their education journey because I haven't heard someone about it so I asume they can't die there. It wouldn't really fair if they could, don't you think?

Woah. That happened to my sim too! Well sort of like that. He was enrolled in that 'Peace and Love' boarding school. And then a memory popped up and said "Yumi is in mourning because Sam Sekemoto died' and then, another message popped up, "All Sam's belongings have been moved to Yumi's inventory."
And the worst part was when Sam started haunting the house. But then on Sam's birthday, a normal teenager Sam came walking through the door.
That was the spookiest glitch I have ever had.

Haha Leto85, I am also waiting for that 'Salute' interaction too, he is going to be an Austronaut!  ;D Yeah, and it doesn't sound reasonable or real, or anything.
Natusko, that's funny. But I would have like freaked out. Do you guys think it's a glitch or it was meant like that? That could really scare some people.

It has to be a glitch.  EA wouldn't make it normal for a Sim away at boarding school to be considered dead.  The game's just reading it wrong or something.

@Natsuko:

That sounds more extreme than what Leto's reporting.  What kind of ghost did the haunting?  Was it Sam as a child?  What color was it?

that must be a glitch. It has to be. Did the alive Sam meats his ghost one? Sounds very paradoxical to me.
And I love your sim names by the way. It sounds very Japanese to me, which is a nice welcome to my normally Dutch or English sims names. Perhaps you want share some in this topic.

I think that the Jamboree got sold so it wouldn't disappear at boarding school. You know, for safety. But it is weird saying they're "dead".

It is possible to die at a regular school, not boarding school. I heard a meteor hit the public school and everyone inside died. Creepy.

Yumi and Sam Sekemoto are two of the stock characters in Sunset Valley.  I never thought about it before, but it sounds like the stock characters have different names in your game, Leto.
