School Not In Session

Whenever I click my child sim to go to ballet after school, I got the message 'School Not In Session.'
Does anybody know what that means? My sim has never gone to ballet now and I obviously don't like that.

I think you have to change the tab from school to activities (like when a teen is going to school and working parttime there is a 2nd tab to click between the two).  Once you change the tabs then you can click go to activity, but they only have activities on days they are actually in school, it is an extended school day.

The thing that the person above me said, but also: I think you have to attend school that day. My sim couldn't go to Drama club, when he skipped school cause of his mood swing... If your sim goes to school, you don't even have to worry, becouse he/she will be in the Afterschool class right after school ends

I guess this is included in what the other people said, but if the child has a field trip on a day they won't have any after school activities for the day.

As long as the kid/teen is in class when the bell rings at the end of their school day they automatically go to their afterschool activity.
I dont think they even leave the building.

I had my child sim skip school one day but got her to go to school at 2 pm, so she had an hour of class and they continued on to ballet.
I didn't have to do any prompting, I dont think you can anyway.
