Why Must I Rediscover Already Discovered Potions

I have discovered all 10 potions. I put my family in the bin and on another computer, now it says ''Discover Potion''. Why if I've already discovered them do I have to discover them again? ???

VampirePlasma is right. When you bin someone, certain things don't pass on. My sim was maxed out on charisma; but she had to make 25 friends to get the benefit.
