Can't play one Sim in family
« on: June 24, 2011, 03:51:18 AM »
When I went onto the game after having saved, the square icon for one of my Sims was just a green box.  I couldn't click on it.  I saw my Sim right there where I had left him, but I couldn't play him.  I tried various things, including switching active households, and none of it worked.  Does anyone have any possible solutions?

This is a known bug in the game.  It normally happens after traveling to another country, but I'm seeing more and more of it since Generations was released.  There's a chance you can retrieve you last save by following these instructions..  Otherwise, I'm afraid it's a game breaker.

Note:  I'm moving this over to the Technical Help board.

I posted a workaround to this problem here:

You will recover use of your sims, but they will lose all relationships they had with townies and any school progress.

Is there a mac version for these instructions? I kind of got the gist of it, but i still need some clarification as to what exactly to do.

EDIT: I'm sorry I somehow put this in the wrong topic. :P

I had the same problem as catlover42, my husband tried as Pam suggested and it didn't work. I tried as Laurencius suggested and it worked like a charm. I did lose relationships with townies and all the wishes my sims were waiting to get. But those will come back in time, I'm just glad it worked I was afraid I would have to delete the whole thing. I'm so glad to have found this forum, it was very helpful!
