Yes, my first impressions are sims 1 graphics, sims 3 sound effects, and frontierville style energy and levelling. I do like farmville and frontierville, though I had to limit myself to just farmville - it was just getting waaaay too time consuming. I never buy farmcash/horseshoes/facebook credits, sims social (SS) will be the same deal for me.
I think maybe I read something about it a while back, but then forgot about it altogether, until I saw that FOUR of my real life (RL) facebook friends had started playing it. I didn't know they were sims fans - but then, possibly they aren't, but they were drawn in by the social game aspect of it.
If anyone wants to add friends, but are hesitant at adding strangers to their profile, there is a section under edit friends where you can make a list. You then add all your SS friends to that list, and in privacy settings, you can adjust who can and can't see specific information. When you publish, there will be a drop down box also, so you can restrict your SS spam to SS friends only. Chances are, however, that most of your RL friends will block it quick-smart anyway if they are not interested.
