Unless Carl says otherwise, just post anything you want to say here in this thread.  I don't know if he wants to do anything more with it or not.

Ok, thank you Pam.

First Impression

Upon loading, the first things I noticed - the graphics, and later tutorials. I am still unsure how to get LTHP - there are no wishes, or even Wants and Fears (TS2). The game overall is average - some distinct Sims 3 tunes, and the odd Zynga game concept on there. It is indeed reminiscent of The Sims, the most distinct simililarity being the graphics.
The game itself is Level Based, with you gaining levels for completing tasks. Before getting a job, it seems you gain Simoleans from completing tasks. And, yet again on the tasks, you gain multiple rewards, most notably - the infamous XP.
You are given a scummy area at first, but as your house value increases, you move to a better house. I don't know what they are - the first increase is $29,000 and my house is around $28,500.
EDIT later today: It appears a popup comes up. That's it.
Overall, this game seems like TSM - but that's my first impression. It will change, but for now, it is as it is.

Seabody, you get LTHP by completing missions and gaining a skill level. Upon upgrading your house, the street upgrades itself. I'm not sure if it is possible to increase the lot size.

I have not been able to play the Sims for quite awhile now.  Too many other things are requiring my attention.  So with that said... I love the FB version so far.  It is quick and easy.  When other things are demanding my attention, I can just close my browser window, I don't have to worry about saving and quitting.  I can get my daily Sims fix in just a few short moments.  It is super simple and for me, quite enjoyable.  I also have the mobile version and the FB is even simpler, easy to play.  Loading time is fast.  I wish I didn't need to rely on FB friends to complete some of the missions, but I will survive.  I think it is a great game.
Ignorance is not an excuse, please read the forum rules.

I just started playing today, but don't see many of my current facebook friends playing this.  Would it be ok to share our facebook accounts here so people can add friends for Sims Social?

ok...thank you.  I guess I'm a little facebook illiterate, because I just now found where you can set your username, instead of just being your real name.

So I am at www.facebook.com/simfulicious

If anyone needs some help or just wants to add me, click here.

I mean, if you're in this forum, you're a simmer. If you're a hardcore simmer, you simply have to play all sim games, including TSSocial. Right?

Friend request accepted and added neighbor. :)

I love Sims Social. It's a lot better than any other Zynga/Playfish game. It's simply superb. I just now realized that I spent half an hour playing it just because it's so fun. There is one usual EA thing I hate about it though... The lagging. It attempts to ruin the great deal of fun but luckily doesn't succeed. Here are the top reasons why I place TSS on the third place of my all time top Sims games, after TS3 and TS2 and before TS1 and TSM.

1) It's very simple. Easy to navigate. I love the full screen option, use it all the time. Especially liking that we can zoom in/out, too. Can't help but adore the UI too. Though might seem a tad bit childish, but it's indeed meant to be... It's not T for Teen like the other Sims games, it's G for General.

2) My first impression was that everything would be based on the usual Facebook game marketing... Cash, cash and more cash. Well it is not. I like this thing about this game. Even though you have to wait for energy and all, it isn't dependent on money.

3) Very fun! You not at all must have a huge bunch of neighbors to succeed in your XP (levels), you can have only about twenty and still become one of the top players out there, without getting overly bored. Sure, the nergy factor kicks in at all times...

4) Doesn't annoy you with pop-ups. I definitely saw about ten pop-ups about things like becoming friends with a neighbor, but hey, be grateful that we don't have the memory ones... yet.

That's all, I think. I also like that we don't have to save. As well as this thing not overheating my laptop like TS3 does. So to say, it's an incredible game. Just add the screenshot function (well I guess Print Screen would work as well) and I'm ready to do a story with TSS. The Adventures of Frankie Morris. Would you guys read it? ;D

Also, Carl, if you ever need help with the guide for TSS (if there's going to be one), my doors are open at all times. I'd love to contribute because I adore this thing just so much. :D

I still think they should add a button to rotate the screen, even if it's 90º-90º like TS1, and also a button to minimize the lower tab.

I really like TSSocial but I just wish the energy system wasn't so annoying to work with. As you level up it stays at the same 15 energy 'points' and the only reliable way to gain energy is by waiting. Someone on the Playfish forums calculated it at about 1 hour 15 minutes to recharge the entire bar. 15 energy gets used up pretty fast when you're being social, because social interactions require it.

It's a great game, and a great concept, but the energy system is totally out of whack.

I tried to play some today and it kept refreshing the page, so I finally gave up.  From what little I did see of it, it is cute. :)

Azurefirem, the deal with energy is essential for any facebook game. Yes, it is annoying.

On the early levels, you can do anything you want with it, because you'll keep leveling up easily, thus recovering your energy to full every time you effectively reach the next level.

It takes 1h15m to restore the whole 15 energy, time that passes by very quickly if you play TS3 while waiting.

When you visit friends, you get 5 bonus energy to spend on them/their house every day. After you spend those 5, you get 1 extra energy for yourself. Thus, the best way to conserve energy in a daily matter is to spend all you have in your home, doing your stuff, then visit every friend, spending the 5 bonus energy on every one of them. If you have 15 friends, when you get back home you should have 15 energy more, not considering the energy you'd get from the time passing.

The only thing that really troubles me is SimCash. I wanted blue hair, that's all. =(
