Can't spar with tournament opponent

I'm having a problem trying to win the Martial Arts tournament in World Adventures.  The "spar" option just does not appear when I click on the interactions menu for my sim's next tournament opponent, a member of the paparazzi.  Has anyone else had this problem, and how do I fix it?  I've already left and gone on a new vacation only to have the same opponent and the same problem.

Maybe there's no other sims with your sims level of difficulty or you should try while being in Shang,Simla China.I hope it helps.

I think that catmover42 is already in China. You can't have MA tournament opponent in home world.

Your problem is that your opponent is a paparazzi. This is a bug in the game, those Sims shouldn't be part of the potential opponents' pool.
Before doing anything, make a save (with save as and a unique name). Then turn on testingcheatsenabled true, and you can either try to delete the paparazzi or try to move it in your household. You'll need to shift+click or ctrl+shift+click on this sim to have those options.

As BellaClo said, delete the paparazzi. I had the same problem and deleting the opponent opened up room for another opponent.
