Graduation
« on: June 21, 2011, 01:35:26 PM »
Summer and Rosa are about to age up to YA and I don't know what to do. Aren't they suppose to wait for the graduation? Or does it happen before/after they age up?
Thanks.

Both teens I've had age up so far had graduation the day after their birthday - they were about a week apart. I'm not sure how it would be handled for teens closer together in age.

Summer and Rosa are twins, I think it will be just like normal teens am guessing. The point is I don't do anything special? It happens at school and that's it? And what about barding school teens?

No, you don't have to do anything special. Around 8 AM I think there was an alert that "Today is graduation day!", and then around 10:00-10:30 everyone got sent into the City Hall rabbit hole for about 2 hours - all the adults got the day off work, and for the older kid's graduation the younger kid got the day off school, and couldn't attend her after-school activity because she hadn't been in class that day.

I have no idea if boarding schools are different; I haven't used one yet.

VampirePlasma: Hope the occasion is a happy one! Can't wait to see how it works for my sim just entering her teens, because for my real girls they didn't have graduation (doesn't happen in France - they were deprived of tossing thier hats).

Summer, Rosa, and Alex finally aged up yesterday after 4 simdays. They were about to go to sleep, (I couldn't wait till the next day!) and my mom was like, "Uh, go to sleep." It was around 1:00 AM, I was tired. Now i have to wait till this afternoon to play again, therefor see them graduating.
I did get a pop-up saying "In a few days your teens will be graduating!"

Can't wait for my sims to reach that age!!! I remember my own graduation from high school. As a professor, at each graduation I had to wear the cap and gown of My Alma Mater. Later I gave then to my kids to play dress up.

Wow. Am I the only one here who has never experienced a graduation? They sound fun, and I think my sims are reliving my graduation for me. My sims seem to do everything that I missed: graduation, prom...they just sound so fun!!! *is jealous of sims*

I am with you, I missed Prom but Graduation, I'll have soon.
Anyways...
Around 6:30 Am I got a pop-up saying "It's Graduation Day! Have your Sims go over to graduate in City Hall." So I got the entire household ready (somehow, only one bathroom and 7 sims!) Had Elisabeth make Fruit Parfrait for breakfast (random) and found out I had gnome babies! After I calmed down, I found out I was missing a 45,000 simolion car! I was so mad. I couldn't/can't find it anywhere. I was like "Okay, whatever." It was finally for the two (not messed up sims in the household *cough*Alex*cough*) special sims to go to City Hall. They waited outside for "Graduates"? to come, some started showing up, including Rosa BF Abel. They were together for a little while, 30 seconds to be exact. They all went inside and a very annoying music started playing, then the household decided to finally show up. I fastfoward and they came out with a nre moodlet. For Summer; Graduated! a moodlet for 10 days, and a Proud Sibiling! for 10 days, oh! And awards, Summer got the "Most Likely to Achive their Life Time Wish more Succesfully." Award. (There seems to be various awards.) Rosa got  the same as Summer but with a new one, "Veladictorian." and the award for "Most Likely to Write a Best Selling Novel" The whole family got a Proud (Parent, Grandparent ect.)   They also threw their little diploma. But for some weird reason Summer was wearing a little cat cap not the hat. We went home and threw a house party, I invited the most important people my sims know. I got Rosa engaged with Abel and Alex engaged with Kay (I don't remember last names!) got the grandmother (she drank the Young Again potion.) a little romantic interest. I got both of the engaged sims married privately (one at a time so they could move.) kicked them out, it was pretty effective they are 3 and 2 houses away from Elisabeth and Carlos. I kicked the grandma away, I honestly don't know where she landed.(<--Get it!) And moved Summer (I put her as my current household ::) that is not being favortism. But before that I left Elisabeth and Carlos (I already forgot his name.) a little job. A day before they tried for a baby and since the dad is a doctor he can tell the gender and we are looking foward to a new baby sister. I'll post pics soon.
I hope you enjoyed my story.

OK, that's it. VampirePlasma, you need to make a story about your sims' very dramatic life, I'd be like, your number one fan! But since were on the topic of a big ol' graduation sims story, I'll share mine.
The characters: Kayla, Raisa, Yevpraksiya, Martin, Bob, and Gary. O yea, and Mama Baloney.
The Story:

At about 6:30, I got a notification saying bla bla bla, graduation is at city hall, get ready NOW! So the girls went into there little powder room and put on there graduation robes and special makeup. The boys went into the man cave and watched TV. And then they changed into there graduation robes. Mama Baloney cooked alot of waffles, there were none left, so she ate icecream. And then they piled all up into the Sloppy Jalopey, and went the city hall. Yevpraksiya (modeled after me *blush*) was valedictorian, and got the faithful repuatation. She went to Smuggsworth Prep School, so she had special robes. The girls and boys got pretty much the same thing- except for Bob, he did not get the 'faithful' reputation. And then they all walked out, and Mama Baloney took out her video camera and taped them throwing their diplomas in the air. And then they went to the Bistro and had some interesting meal choices, and then get this! Kayla was served Ambrosia (they ate outside)! And then they got married and all of the siblings (and there new sweeties) will be living in this private mansion I made. And already all of the girls are pregnant. And then Mama Baloney adopted a son named Junior.

The end.

I love writting.
Anyways Alex is messed up all the way. He is poor.  :(  But he does have a wife that he loves so much. She is even pregnant. Well, Rosa got the faithful rep, but Summer didn't, she dated about 3 guys and (even after being somehow mature) was caught flirting yesterday with a vampire. (They are unresitible!) and her ex-boyfriend. (That isn't my fault, it was his party and he told me to stay over.) But whatever.
Happy Grad Everyone!
Hey could you PM me where I can write stories, I love writting I would love to share my story.
