Kids Getting Maternity Leave?

It seems like whenever the mom in my family gets pregnant, if there are school aged kids in the family they get the day off school and work the day after the mom realizes that she is pregnant.  I've only noticed this happening since generations came out.  Is this happening to everyone else, too?

That must have been why my sims husband didn't go to work.  I missed the que in the upper right corner and my sim became pregnant, so that is what it must have been.  I didn't have school age kids in the house, but, yes it is new since generations.  I had never had that happen before.

I noticed that too, when the lady Sim was in her maternity leave after the baby was born (in my case), the husband Sim was also granted a leave status, I figured Generations put in a Paternity Leave benefit for the Sims. Is this right? Or is this a glitch? It's an OK glitch , by the way, having the husband help around the house with the baby

I didn't get that at all. I did seem to get a day off work for someone moving into my household, though.

Trust me it came with Generations. I was doing the baby boomers challenge and EVERY time mom had a baby, dad got leave. I never thought he would go back to work.. LOL

One would think that if the developers meant for it to be a feature, a notification would tell you after the mom becomes pregnant.  Oh well, I agree that it seems like a good thing...

Kind of weird having the kids have leave, though.  And for a day after the mom begins looking pregnant, not when the baby is born.

Yeah, my child and teen sims got the day off school when their big brother graduated. Must have been teacher training or something.
