Creating a USB Game Backup

Once every so often, I like to reset my computer back to the original factory state to keep it running effectively. I have all my writing backed up on a USB, yet I don't know how to do this for my Sims 3 data and thus l lose all my saves. How do I backup my game, do I just backup the save files and re-add them to the save folder when I reinstall the game? Or is it more complicated than that? How much memory would I need on the USB for the backup?

It is as simple as copying the folder and pasting it onto your USB, then when you're ready, pasting it back into the Electronic Arts folder.
I copied the entire Electronics Art folder, just to make sure everything went okay.

As for space, I'm honestly not sure how much it takes up. I put it on an external hard drive which had 500Gb of space, so I wasn't exactly working with something with limited room in respect to the game. On the back of the disk cover, it says to allow 1GB for the base game, and 1GB per expansion. But to be completely honest, I'm not sure whether that affects how it will hold on your USB. You may need to wait for someone else to answer that part.

My writing one is a cheapie that is only 4GB, so yeah... I'll need to buy a bigger USB for my Sims 3 save files! Luckily it's my birthday soon so I know what'll be spending my money on! That and the outdoor stuff pack as well, oh EA, how you hoover up my money...
