So how can sims become valedictorians?

Well, probably if they're on honor roll for a long time they might become valedictorian when they graduate.

In the United States, the graduating class has a Valedictorian and a Salutatorian, which are the first and second highest ranked students in the class.  I don't believe Middle School has a Valedictorian.  If they do, it's new since I went to school.  In college, we have Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude, and Cum Laude.  They are the highest ranked students graduating with a bachelor's degree.  There can be a number of students in each rank, I believe.

Do adult sims also have a "dream about" interaction?

No adult sims don't have it, and my child sim could only chose to dream of be royalty, an astronaut or a dinosaur. The teens were in boarding school, so no interactions possible.

I think if your sim is on honor roll for a long time, then you'll be the valedictorian. That happens to me, anyone else?

When I had the one that became a valedictorian but both of my Sims got honor roll. Is it that there is only one place?

@VampirePlasma: I think so, since mine graduated from boarding school. It said they graduated with honors, but didn't mention what the honor was. It was cute t see them return in cap and gown and toss their diplomas.
