Ok, two complaints.  One, the kitchen is really tiny and cramped feeling and as a housewife I truly hate small kitchens.  I live with one and grumble about it daily.  Two, you seem to have an aversion to dish washers and garbage disposals.  Why?

Other than those two nit picks, I absolutely adore this house.  I think, of all you've made, this one is my favorite.
I love the muted tones throughout and the unusual, (to me), color choice in the nursery.  It is so peaceful and comforting feeling and would be an excellent room for a nooboo.  As for the kids room, perfect.  I can just hear the mom telling them to turn the tv off and do their homework now.  lol  I love the sun room/conservatory.  Perfect place to sip some lemonade and relax, or read a nice romance.  It has a good feel to it, and if it were a real life house, I would want to live in it.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

Haha you caught me on my fear of dishwashers and trash compactors... I can't really explain why I don't add them, other than I can't help but find them visually unappealing; they always seem obtrusive.

I'll see what I can do to add them more often.

Thanks. :)

I love this house...absolutely love it.  I downloaded and put my Vampire and her adopted teen son and their butler in it, it was perfect for them except for one thing.  I hate the spiral staircase.   The teen missed school and prom on several occasions because he wouldn't go down the stairs.  I would make sure there was nobody at the bottom and he still wouldn't go.  It happened with his mom and the butler too.  Sometimes they would go, but most of the time they wouldn't or it would take them hours before descending, and they would miss whatever they were supposed to be doing.  I know its not the way the house is built.  I know its just the design of the stairs, but I'm really frustrated.  Any suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Hmm.  You could probably knock out the walls enclosing the staircase, that should do it.  Some people's games seem to be more finicky about placing doors directly next to staircases than others.

I love this house.  I downloaded it and moved a newly married couple in it.  First night, I had a burglar and totally forgot to put an alarm in.  Only problem, the burglar was stuck in the room downstairs behind the door and the policeman couldn't get through and it was a mess, lol.  The policeman moved for a second and that gave the burglar a chance to get away.  He took the tv and something else, I was too busy trying to get the sim to call the police and didn't pay attention to what else he took.  So I tweeked the tv room some so that wouldn't happen again and put an alarm in.  You really did an awesome job on this house and I only did a few minor adjustments for some pathing issues. :)

Danefaith, your house is beautiful, but it needs a few routing tweaks. I just moved my family into it, and I had the following problems:

the spiral stair wasn't working - to fix it I replaced and move the arch on the bottom, and deleted the walls and door no top, and I also deleted the lights, before moving rotating the stair a little, and now it finally works.

I like the effect of the fireplace - how the chimney is only on the floor above - I just wish it would let me add a fireplace to the top floor bedroom with the chimney - I expect that is some kind of glitch. But that's a small thing, really.

I tried to put the makeover/style equipment in the basement, but was told the roof was too low. I fiddled around trying to lower the floor but it never worked. I ended up deleting most of the basement (it wasn't necessary for my family anyway), but I left the laundry room, which I haven't tried using yet - I might have a problem with even that.

the last and most annoying glitch was the mailbox wouldn't work. No matter where I put it, when a sim went to it, they'd go through the actions and then teleport a few steps away as if nothing happened. I spent hours on this and finally was able to replace the mailbox.

Anyway, I don't mean to upset you danefaith - you're a wonderful builder - but I think it might be a good idea to playtest your houses before you put them up for us to use. It is frustrating having to do so much glitch fixing in a house - at least the house is beautiful enough to be worth it :).

Oh, huh.

That's peculiar.  To be blunt, I do play test, and I didn't encounter any problems with the basement or stairs.   It's weird.  This isn't the first time someone's encountered a problem that I simply did not.

I just playtested it, and mailbox is working flawlesly, all items in basement are usable including laundry, only stairs are not, but majority of spiral stairs got messed up after the 1.26 patch. I managed to make them usable by deleting walls near it, moving candle light that was just above stairs and rotating stairs slightely on a same position (with moveobjects on which doesn't work on stairs but still worth mentioning).

Thanks for checking Anushka. It's odd. I wonder if there's something wrong in my game then, rather than this house file? I have no real way of knowing I guess...

No problem pally:) About low celling in basement that is actually not made with basement tool but with fondation, probably if you used moveobjects on, makeover station would work, since technically it is not a standard height room (which makes this house more unique and amazingly done!).

Check if you got some unwanted CC with some of the downloads, I didn't move the mailbox at all, instead I load the house with evil Sim who was able to donate to evil without problems.  :)

Yeah, the basement checked out, but lo' and behold, the stairs didn't work me either.  guess the patch did muck it up, could of sworn I checked the stairs out last time.

Ah well, I isolated it to needing to turn the staircase so that there's an empty space directly following the landing.  every other scenario afterward worked, just needed to move the wall.

Consequently I was working on a lite version of the home, so I'll upload that.  I'll try and renovate the original version with the changes but its really just removing two bits of wall and turning the staircase 90* counterclockwise.
