He is Simstar.
The next morning, Aleta telephoned Lucy with some good news. Aisha had been delighted with the invite.
'You should have seen her face, Lucy,' Aleta giggled. 'She went all starry eyed and mushy.'
Lucy felt a small stab of guilt. 'I must write a good lover's email,' she joked rather lamely.
It seemed as if the day would never end. Lucy wrote list after list of things she had to do that evening and jotted timings next to each item. It was all going to have to go like clockwork.
Once the school day ended, she grabbed her bag and headed out the door, sending a small prayer of thanks that Tybalt was not waiting to ambush her today.
Michael went to the gym on Wednesdays so she had time to prepare before Aisha arrived.
Arriving home, she headed for the kitchen. She propped her recipe book in front of her and started preparing her first ever cobbler dish.
Just as she was putting it in the oven, the front door bell rang.
Not Aisha already, she hoped. No, it was the delivery man with the cake. Lucy carefully placed it on the kitchen bench and sighed. It was surely the most beautiful, most romantic cake ever. If it didn't win her a reprieve, nothing would.
She was mildly troubled that it did look slightly like a wedding cake. She frowned. If anyone was going to make her dear friend, Aleta, her sister-in-law she intended it to be herself and Andy.
Quickly she set the dining room table. She placed two vases of flowers at either end and a sweet smelling candle in the middle. She sprinkled some rose petals around it and hoped that she wasn't taking the whole romance thing too far. It did look nice though.
She retrieved the cobbler from the oven. It had turned out rather well. They may as well have it too, so she placed it, with the cake in the middle of the table and hoped the candle didn't drip on anything.
She had just finished up when Michael walked in the door.
'Ah, Lucy,' He said. 'I'm glad I have caught you. My friend, Aisha, will be coming over later.' There was just the hint of warning in his eyes; a slight 'behave or else' threat.
Lucy pretended not to notice.
'Really?' Lucy feigned surprise and smiled sweetly. 'That will be so nice for you. She's a lovely person.'
Michael's mouth gaped open in surprise. He was more than a little disconcerted by her acceptance and unexpected enthusiasm.
'It's most odd,' He said pondering for a moment. 'She seemed to think I had invited her - not that I mind - but it's not like Aisha to mix things up.'
No indeed, thought Lucy. 'Well perhaps she just wanted an excuse to see you,' Lucy winked.
Michael just looked puzzled.
Lucy gave herself a mental kick. She was dealing with Michael, not Gabriel. Gabriel would believe anything as long as it flattered him.
'Well maybe you should just enjoy her visit and not worry about it.' She reached across and patted his arm.
'I will stay out of your way. I have LOADS of study to do and will be in my room for HOURS. Oh, there's Aisha at the front gate. Say hi for me.'
Lucy waggled her fingers as she ran up the stairs to her room leaving the lovebirds in peace.
