Clones
« on: June 10, 2011, 08:30:08 AM »
I wanted to check out the clone reward and cloned my female sim. She was listed as the child's mother and her husband was the step-father. My sim had just had a son herself the day before. Everything was fine the first day, she read to her daughter sitting on the bed and they were already friends.
The next day the girl goes to school and a memory pops up that she has befriended a celebrity (her mother). So I checked in her relationships and found there were two of her mother. One she knew everything about and one she only knew 3 traits. The husband only had one of his wife in his relationship; but the step-brother also had two mothers. If I clicked on the one with 3 traits, it says "invite over".

Has anyone done the cloning before? I'd hate to end up with 10 of my sim running around town.

I'm considering it. Are all skills and LTR passed onto the clone? If not, I don't think I see the point...

Not skills; but traits and favorites. The problem for me was that she ended up with two mothers! Tell me what your experience is when you check it out.

I don't think I want to now. A clone would only be useful to me if it was created with all of it's parent's skills and/or other things, which as you have informed, it does not. It makes much more sense, if the clone is just an unskilled child with the same genes and traits, to make a baby the good ol' fashioned way! ;)

I am a clone fan, however, when I cloned my SimSelf she had inapproprate traits for children. She had the childish trait along with Commitment Issues. The only one that was approprate for her to have at the child stage was Vegetarian. I named her Minnie (like Mini Me).   ;D I don't get how my child clone can be childish, or dislikes children for that matter when she is a child.

I really like the way that clones can have traits that children usually aren't allowed, but sometimes it has funny results.  One of my child Sims is a flirty schmoozer and natural cook, and he keeps getting 'Serve A Meal' wishes even though he has no cooking skill.

My main family has three boys who all look like brothers, but one was born to them, one is a child that the father got from the time machine, and one is his grandfather's clone.  Weirdly, the son from the time machine looks more like his father than the clone does - the clone got a different hair colour for some reason.  I cloned him from a sim with black hair, but he came out with a weird brown-copper colour that I think I created when I was doing a makeover in Twinbrook.

I may try the clone again, but not for now.

I've had another me as a mixologist in a game since I installed generations without using the clone LTR, so I think it's not related.
