Trouble Exporting
« on: June 09, 2011, 07:17:34 PM »
Whenever I click 'export' in CAW, a message pops up and says:
Cannot upload
Your world has no name
Your world has no description
Your world has no thumbnail
Can anyone help? ???

I'm assuming you have named, described and thumbnailed it.

Does this happen to all worlds you try to export?
Have you tried saving the world, then re-opening CAW, and then exporting?

Actually, I have no idea how to do any of that.  :-[

To do what Naga told you, you have to right click on General layer, and chose add description (it's first option that opens when right click on it).
Then you'll see a window with name of the world - you can change t so it is not exactly as the name you saved your world in CAW.
Then you can add description, you can type anything, I usually just typoe in "test" if world is still not finished.
Last option is little tricky. You have to have picture that is 256x256 in size and that is 24 bit png format (it is best to have picture of your world, as that will be an icon in launcher and main menu). to get it, I use SnagIt program, but there are several other programs that can resize and save picture in that format.
After you do all that, save game and then export world. You'll find it in My Documents/EA/Sims3/Exports, and you can install it from there.

Does Microsoft Paint, or Windows Live Picture Gallery do that?

I used both Roxio Photosuite and Microsoft Picture editor to achieve this. I needed to crop it down to a squre, then resize to 256x256, since for some reason neither of these applications have the capability of stretching an image to the size I want, and always maintains original ratios. Unless I just couldn't find them. Either way it got the job done. There is another program that is reccommended for this, called Gimp, but I haven't used it. It is freeware though.
