Why is there always music when I am near the teenager?

   Why is there always annoying guitar music when I am anywhere near teh teenager?  Can it be turned off?  I tried turning off the music in game options, but it is still there!  I can't stand it and I am about ready to send the kid to boarding school!!  HELP!!!!!!  PLEASE!!!!

Kathy, I don't have an answer for you as I usually play with the sound turned off.  Hopefully someone else will have a suggestion.  But I need to remind you about the forum rules about not using all capital letters and excessive punctuation.  I know you're frustrated with the problem, but please be mindful of the rules which you agreed to when you joined.

Whenever the teenager is on the screen (or near it) there is guitar music.  It kind of sounds like a concert  because sometimes you can hear applause.  The closer I get to the teenager the louder the music is!  I can't stand it and I don't know how to make it stop.

Is it like any other song in the game, or maybe a song you added (in the Custom Muic category)?

I'm not sure if this would work or not, but there is a way in the options screen to selectively turn the volume of music down.  I found this out because my sim's stereos were just too loud even on low volume.  It doesn't always seem to work, but it really helped - I was ready to take all the stereos out of the house before I found this option.

I put my stereo's always on low volume but sometimes they bug and play much louder even when not close to that room.
Often going from being zoomed in on a room with playing stereo to mapview and back that makes the game mess up.
What helps for me is zooming to that stereo, turn it off and on that makes it going back to the normal volume level.

I haven't played the new Generations parts of the game yet so I do n't really know but could you teenager have some sort of radio or mp3 player in there inventory they are listening too. If not maybe if you play as that teen and click on him/her they have an mp3 or ipod type thing I don't know if that is possible as I said I haven't played much of the new stuff yet! Just thought it was worth a try!
