Become a Partner Bug?
« on: June 06, 2011, 11:43:07 AM »
Just got Generations, and installed the new patch at the same time, so not sure if this is a Generations or patch issue.  I started playing my usual family, and several of them had a wish to 'become a partner'.  I clicked on the theatre to send the mum down to do just that, and noticed that the sale price was a measly $200.  Clicked on all the rest of the ownable properties, and noticed the same thing!  I can also become a partner in things like the town hall, which i don't think was possible before, and subway stations!  Has anyone else noticed this?  Is it right?

Also, while clicking around, I noticed the 'take a class' option was now priced at $300 instead of $400, and was wondering if this is related.

Oh yeah, and a minor issue - my Sims now take AGES to go for a wee.  MUCH longer than before the patch/generations.  Is my install messed up, or is everyone else experiencing these issues?

Those partnerships are very cheap. Cheapest I've seen is $7000.

Are those lessons discounted (check newspaper)? If not then I would say this is probably related to the first bug ie. partnerships.

Perhaps your sims are reflecting on the incredible increase in value of the simolean and devaluing of business whilst they pee? (This does not seem normal to me).

The prices in mine are normal but that's with a family i started after installing generations.
Try a new family and see if you have the same low prices. If they got the normal prices then there is a glitch in your save im afraid.

After my family had the steel blatter rewards, the only time the toilet got used was by the wife to vomit after she got pregnant.  ;)

I have the same problem, but no Generations installed, just the new patch and all the other expansions. New game, but all businesses are $200. Other venues' prices seem to be unaffected.

I'm noticing all kinds of weirdness with the new patch e.g. the mood bars have gone black in the middle.

I'm also a bit miffed about a lot of the rebalancing I'm seeing. For example my new Sculptor now needs to make 30 (!) of each type of sculpture to become a Master, when previously it was 5 of each type.

Conversely the Painting skill needs only 10 paintings to become a Proficient Painter, and small paintings take no time at all... when I got to level 9 _every_ painting was Brilliant, and it seems all sizes of painting start on the same value (~$60) then each size increases in value independently with each painting... so for example I knocked off 20 small paintings and they increased to around $250, but then my next large painting was only $60.

Not sure if these are bugs or really weird balance choices...

--- edit ---

Similarly the Charisma challenges have increased in difficulty (which is fine, I guess, Celebrity now needs 50! acquaintances) except the Comedian one, which now requires a paltry 2 jokes to achieve.
