Infinite Babies!

I have not purchased Generations yet, but I did install the base game update that gives memories, etc. I installed while a sim was 2 days pregnant, and when it came time for her to have the baby, she went to the hospital and the name your baby! popup came up, I filled out name and traits and then it came up again - I thought I'd had twins! - until it happened again. At this point I was suspicious but thought it could be triplets. 8 babies later... It is definitely a glitch and not the first since I installed the update. Anyone seen anything like this? Do you think I can save the file or should I just start a new game?

One thing you can try (if that woman ever stops popping babies out), is delete the babies with testingcheatsenabled true, save the house+household in edit town, and move the family to a fresh new neighborhood.

If the babies never stop coming, I'm afraid you'll have to forget about that saved game. Unless you have a backup folder.

That sounds like the worst glitch ever.
Just wondering, do you have any mods that allow more than 8 people in the household? If so, this could be a side effect.

Wow, I've never heard that one. I think it sounds fun - but I love having heaps of babies on the Sims

Did you make a previous save before that you can go back to? Or, like Naga said, you can use testingcheatsenabled true and then hold down shift and click on the babies.  "Delete Object" will come up, and you can remove the babies that way.

Yea, but if you simply remove the babies, without moving the sim to a fresh neighborhood, the family tree will still show the babies, which is kind of creepy. Also, with time, the family tree would get bugged and not open anymore.

No mods at all actually, and the babies never actually appear so I can't delete them. I started a new game but in that one I cannot get back to live mode from build/ buy. The game just shuts off. So, I'm embarking on a reinstall.

I've heard of this once or twice.  From what I understand, it's some kind of bug in the very early versions of the game.  You'd think that it would be fixed by now.

I have the same problem I'm sad, I loved that family! But, when I realized that the message of "congratulations etc. etc." kept popping up over and over, I moved my pregnant sim to another house and stayed with the father. ... Then I saw in his genealogical family tree that babies never stop coming....> _ < so yeah ... infinite babies
