Help me decide

Hey there, I can't really decide to get this pack, because I don't really get excited about the new jobs, so I wanted to ask, what is so special about this pack?  Should I get it, or it does it really matter?

Personally, Ambitions is one of my favorite EPs. The two new skills - Inventing and Sculpting - are really interesting. SimBots are a hit and miss thing, you may like them, but you may also get bored with them after some time.
The new professions are entertaining, but be warned that it will be difficult to manage if you have a large family. Though, if you like controlling only one Sim, they are quite interesting and fun. But now that Generations is finally out, and Pets is coming later this year, you may want to think more about getting Ambitions. But, of course, it's all up to you.

The question is, if this pack is changing something in the whole gameplay, special things maybe? :O

Well, you get the new town Twinbrook, Laundry and such. But, certainly, if you don't get involved in skills and jobs or don't buy a laundry hamper, then the gameplay will stay the same in general. It all depends.

Anyway.. I installed that already.. I'll keep playing the late night town (hate every patch to open new game.. sick of it)
and I'll add new community lots from ambitions and I'll check it out..
It wont hurt to have this pack..

Welcome to the forum Gals.

You wanted to know if you should get this game.  With all of the information about this game, it would be entirely up to you.  It only changes gameplay if you want it to change.  All of these expansion packs don't change anything, unless you build something or start a family using some of the new items or towns for each EP, otherwise, it stays the same.  Personally, I like Ambitions and like all of the new professions that came with it.  Some people don't care for it.  These games are only what you make them to be.  Good luck and have fun.

I really enjoy Ambitions -- the Ghost Hunting career was fun (but then I enjoyed the movie Ghostbusters). The Time Machine you can make as an inventor is cool, and so are the sculptures. Laundry is better than you might think -- you get positive moodlets, and it's not that time-consuming for your Sims.
One word of warning -- if you have World Adventures, Ambitions supposedly makes it impossible to excavate. I don't know if the patch that came with Generations has solved this.

If Gals already has WA, then she has the excavation glitch.  That's due to a patch.  Unfortunately, I highly doubt it was fixed.

Welcome to the Forum, Gals.

If you haven't already done so, I strongly recommend that you look at Carl's Sims 3 Guide for Ambitions.  It has everything you need to know about this expansion pack.  And even though you don't get excited about the new jobs, once you actually play them it's quite different.  I didn't particularly care about the jobs, either, but once I got the expansion and started playing, it was great fun.

I wasn't sure by your posts if you had purchased Ambitions yet or not.  I just wanted to add my two cents.

I don't normally take up the inventing or sculpting skills, so they haven't really added to my gameplay.  Though, when I do dabble in them, they are fun.

Some of the professions are great; some are just plain aggravating.  I HATE the Architectural Design profession because it is impossible for me to get a good rating.  Same with the Stylist profession.  But if you like remodeling houses or dressing Sims, you may find it interesting.  I prefer the Investigator and Ghost Hunter professions.

If you are an earth-conscious person like me, you will greatly appreciate the Eco-friendly trait.  It's awesome for my Sim to get moodlets for conserving water, riding a bike, and gardening.  Two other cool features are laundry and bake sales.

Overall, I'd recommend it.
