How does a Sim get driving lessons? Does the command happen when pointing at a car? Is it a request made to a parent? I have one of my Sims with a wish to learn how to drive, I just don't know how to fulfill that wish. Thanks! :)

Parents/Adults who have a Car teach them, just click on the Sim and somewhere on the Pie Menu is the option to Teach to Drive.

One of my Sims got a wish to teach a teenager he met how to drive.  This is my first time trying this, so I'm not sure if what happened is a glitch or not.  I wasn't watching the second lesson and after a while I found my Sim standing on the street corner alone.  The teenager was nowhere around, and I couldn't cancel out the "go with" interaction on my character, so I wound up resetting him to get him home.  The wish to teach her to drive still hasn't been fulfilled, and I don't know if I should try again or just forget it.  Can anyone tell me if this is normal or a glitch?

I've just thought of a way to complete the learning to drive thing really quickly, do it in the motive mobile and then you won't have to stop!

Anything special happens if your teen drives alone? Without knowing the 'Driving Skill' or they can't?

They can't drive without learning. The option is greyed out and says "can not drive yet" or something like that.

My teen got a free car out of it.  She popped up the wish to learn to drive early in my game and her family didn't own a car.  Anyway, the option was there for her to learn so I went ahead with it and the car just appeared.  She got to keep it afterwards. :D

Yup, I got one in the post, it's not special and it looks like a Handiness Skill Certificate if I remember well.  :)

So that's what that was. I was getting ready to move a just turned adult Sim out of his parents house and while looking at the certificates saw one for Handiness, but nobody in the family had maxxed that skill. Good to know what it's for.

@ Schip, I found that with teching my own Teenagers, one got Arrested for being out after Curfew because when they got out of the Car her and her Mother were several streets apart.

One thing I noticed, if you want your teen to drive around town without a license is to buy a motorcycle (Big Beast); apparently they count as bicycles and the sim doesn't need to learn to drive first.

Thanks, samoht.  That's probably what happened in my game.  It's my Random Wishmasters game and I didn't want to cancel the wish if there was any chance of completing it, so I tried again the next day and happily, it worked.

In saltypaw's video, you can defiantly tell it's a teen driving as the wheels are turning backwards, not forwards.  :P

My sim is wanting to learn driving, but she is grounded. Can I still do it?

The Parents can let her Off I think, it is an interaction and then the punishment is lifted and they can learn to drive. I don't know if they can leave the House with a Parent whilst grounded.
