Tomb Expansion Questions
« on: January 18, 2010, 11:16:33 AM »
I didn't know where to post this (even though ive been reading on here for a week before joining =p ). How do I expand tombs like the Great Pyramid?  I tried it, but it's greyed out (didnt notice anything About this in the posts/topics I've read either). And does anyone have a location for building a good tomb?

(I made a small room through cheats at the Ruins of Kasrak though =p ) but most of the lots are vacation homes. And does anyone know why they're 13 artifacts (as i translate it to english)?

For the tombs, while there are only six or so, I had found multiple tombs inside of one, but it still held only 1 of the artifacts, which I find strange. So are they impossible to collect?

I've never managed to get that one complete. Also didn't find one in the tomb of that queen same in abu simbel? I got both eyes though (had 4 of those sets of the golden statue collection, pure luck. xD )

To edit existing tombs you need to use the cheat: "EnableLotLocking on".
There are some more tomb building tips here:

Try looking at Carl's page about Egypt. There's a list of all the relics so you can see which ones you're missing and some tips on where to find some of them; like the one in Abu Simbel.

Okay, Thanks, PJSim. I'll take a look when I get back froom school tomorrow. And also..

This is just random, but how does it come that one sim of mine has Geoffry Landgraab as boss in medical while the other doesn't even have him as co-worker?

I had the same with business career. I put 2 new Sims for the job. My level 9 business Sim had no new co workers even though there were 2 new coffee dudes. Is this random or what? I'm finding this weird.

When you work, you have to select "meet co-workers", or something similar, where you can select work hard, hold meeting etc. It may just be that your sim haven't met these people yet!

I mean when i press meet co-workers it tells me (sim name) has met all his co workers   or the option is just gone or they have another boss (?)  as always (example if i make 2 sims sim a and sim b  they both join culinary  they both get another boss wich  i find pretty strange Heh  and shouldnt the sim of highest rank be the boss?   as my lvl 10 businees sim has a boss of lvl 5/6 in the business career i find this confusing really =p  now time to read Pjs links

I would say it's typical if you send 2 brand new Sims to the same building to be hired that they would both receive the same boss. But, sometimes they'll get different ones. And I agree it's kind of odd that bosses aren't higher up the ladder with their own position. I guess it's all part of where Sims are in the storyline when you begin a new neighborhood. For example, Stiles McGraw is often a boss in the music career. If you started a brand new Sim and entered the music career and Stiles was already a pop icon, that would be kind of odd given the two of you are basically at the same point in the storyline.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you switch between the different sims? Do they live in the same Household, do you change Households through the "edit town"-screen, or do you change by starting/loading a new game?

I'm not sure I understand your question. And if you're asking brand new questions, shouldn't this have been a new thread rather than jumping into someone else's?

This issue of having different bosses and co-workers is a new one.  I experienced the same thing with two Sims in the Medical field.  I believe it's just a change that EA has made to story progression to change things around a little.

I have never noticed that feature. Maybe I'm just not observant of these things.

Meh. It aint something that's bothering me. I just noticed it and it kinda stuck in my head.

I still didn't figure out the artifact stuff for Al-Simhara Egypt. I guess I'll need to find a detailed walkthrough or something. In China, I found most of them (on other neighbourhoods). And France, why would I want to go there? I hate France for that anoying mansion. Only contained some grapes.. ahh well.

Now something I never figured out.. do you always keep a raise?  Like I get a 3 simdollar raise for science and the next day I get an promotion. Does the raise also get counted in by the new salary like instead of the standard 33 now 36?

(Never done science, so this may not be accurate, but it's just to help you understand my question. If that's possible with my writing skills, heh.)

And to ik, I'm not sure to who your question is mentioned, but you can switch families through town edit switch active household (which I'll never do again. Turned off story progression, but it kept running while I was busy with my painter [just to have a new Sim in town]) or through the main menu, different neighbourhoods.

and.. mostly my sims that are in the same career are also generally in the same family/household but i tried to add 2 new workers once though from another family for funs   i hope this calrifies it if not  ill try to expain/tell it  more readable? ( i really need to figure out how to use stuff like dots lol just cant understand how it works =p )

Sorry, i did not write that question correctly last night (it was too late to post anyway, i should have waited until the morning). Anyway, what i meant to ask you, Thierry007, is whether the sims that have different bosses in the same career are actually in the same (save-)game/same household or in different games in the same town. If they are in the same family and same career, then they should at least have the same co-workers, even if the Boss is different (depending on the job level). If they are in different savegames then they can have totally different co-workes, because the different save games are not in any way related to each other.
