I heard there will be raccoons (or skunks, but I`m not going to do a smelling test). How epic-super-happy-cake-fun is that?!

On the sims 3 site I saw a picture of what appeared to be a skunk, a panda and a tiger. But I think they were really a cat dressed as a skunk and dogs dressed as a panda and tiger. :S

Yeah they look like Dogs and Cats!  Wasn't their mention of that if you do something you get a free extra Pet 'Pattern'? I remember a Tiger Pattern being mentioned as unlockable earlier.

I believe those extra patterns will be console only. Limited editions for the PC will include a pet shop.

The tiger and the panda look like disguised dogs, and the skunk like a cat. Those poor pets... says someone who was dressing her very first cat with her toddler's frilly dresses
 
Besides this funny masquerade idea, I'm wondering about the ethic behind this. Tigers and pandas are protected species, no? EA could be a tad little more educational on this.
