Indeed, Pets is more or less scheduled for October.

I read that it will be released September 2, 2011.
 

What I don't understand, from the Q&A you linked to, is why they release a Limited Ed' at all? It's priced as the standard version, with additional features, which is good news. But couldn't they have released just one version, with all the goodies included? This won't bring them more money but 'cost' them the management of 2 versions, which I find a pretty strange decision. Well, wait and see...

It's a marketing campaign that's fairly common.  They're just trying to sell as many copies as they can as soon as they can.  Dangling some extra content to early buyers is one method boost sales up front.

I asume that only count for if you live in America. I don't like half answers.

This marketing strategy makes sense indeed. I hadn't seen it like that, but then I'm not very good at selling things either. I'm rather happy that this edition is priced as the standard one, and hope I'll be able to find it in my country. And this would be good news for Leto too, since we're kind of neighbors :-)
 
September, wow! They have changed their usual schedule, it seems. But this explains why the next SP is released next month, so soon after Generations.

Yes, you can ride with them. But how fast they will be I don't know. It would be not really natural to speed out the Bwan Speedster YL of course. But I may hope so, as I like horses more than I feel for cars.

And almost definitely the UK. I've never really been any good at throwing things or geography, but if you want, I could go up a mountain and try to Frisbee you the disk! How many thousand miles away and in what direction is your country from the peak of Ben Nevis?

I just don't like this "limited edition". I usually wait a little while before I get the newest expansion so I can consider buying it. I don't like how we have to get a limited edition to get pet stores. By the time I will get the game, there probably be no Limited Edition ones left. I loved those kitty slippers in the trailer and all the horses, though. I hope we will get to control the pets this time.

Horses! And doggies! Ahh! Am so happy! I love animals! I can already imagine my sims with at least 4 dogs of different sizes and breeds and one horse! I see it, my 5 star celeb walking around Bridgeport with her head high and a really big  dog walking with her. Ahh! Am so happy! A tomboy riding a horse around Riverview!  And now is when I find this out? What is wrong with me!

The September 2 release date is incorrect.  I don't remember where I read it, but it's wrong.  Leto's link for the UK said October 21, 2011.  My Amazon.com for the US said October 31, 2011.  One of those dates may be a typo.  The US and UK don't normally have 10 days between release dates, do they?

I don't know how accurate it is, but Wikipedia lists the North American release date as October 25 and The European release as October 28.

This is the expansion pack I've been most waiting for. As far as I'm concerned no house is complete without a cat.

That's rather annoying about the muddled dates, considering I want to buy the limited edition on the first day.
