I bought the disk, and I didn't have problems per say, but it did say it needed an update while my launcher said it was up to date. I had to manually patch it, but I didn't have any more problems with it.

What is 'manually patching it' and how do you do it?

This post shows how to get the manual one. Look for the post from SimGuru_BGY_11, click the link and it will download it onto your computer. Then double click it, run it and it should be good to go.

Is the patch available yet?  I have the digital download but couldn't install last night because there was no patch.  Have they released it yet?

Yes, I used the patch last night. If you click the link in my other post, it will take you to the official forums, where the patch can be downloaded manually.

I bought the game yesterday (physical copy) and didn't have any problems installing it.
Once it was installed, the patch updated itself later that afternoon.  So far, I haven't encounter any problems, except my male sim getting stuck when woohooing in the shower...
