Inventory shaking?
« on: June 01, 2011, 05:57:21 AM »
Ok, I opened the Halliwell file and everything is fine except Patty's inventory is shaking and acting crazy. I can't get anything out of it and if I put something in it, well it's just gone. If that was the only problem, I could ignore it by just not looking at it. But Penny harvested her garden, and I went to put the stuff away and I could grab it but not let it go. So once it was in my "hand" I'm stuck and I had to exit the game. So an EP that brought new bugs lol.  ::)

I just opened the game again hoping exiting would clear it up. Well, it's not shaking anymore, but now everyone has Patty's inventory! What I mean is, when she would paint masterpieces, I would stick them in her inventory, and now everyone has Patty's masterpieces in their inventory! And nothing of their own.  :'(

Have you tried reloading the game or resetting Patty, Esther? Hope that helps. :-\ I hate bugs and glitches with all my heart.

I did restart it once, maybe I'll try resetting her. Thanks Chronic.

Ok, I opened the game and the other inventories are fine, but Patty's has gone back to shaking. I realize I can't explain with words or pictures, so I took a video of it. Resetting her didn't do anything except cancel everything from her queue.

Esther, have you tried removing some items? If it is possible, of course. Because Patty's inventory seems to be fully filled. :-\

It's impossible to remove anything! Plus I don't think there is a maximum of items is there? I've had other sims with more than that in there. I just got to I guess wait for the next patch.  >:( I'm going to try to play some more, but I gotta remember don't put anything in her inventory or I'll lose it.  ::)

Have you tried fully restarting your computer and cleaning the caches. Because the next patch may leave you waiting for a while. Which you know that us Halliwell fans do not want. ;D

That is strange.  I guess you would call it more like blinking.  I have had that happen a couple of times when I went into build mode, but it didn't stay like that.  I wonder if it is maybe a graphic card issue.  I wouldn't think so, but you never know.  Didn't you at one time put your spec's for your card on here?  I can't remember. ???

No I haven't restarted my computer. I will in a little bit though. I know, you guys have been so patient and I appreciate that! It's just irritating, I did play some more, but finally quit when I couldn't remove anything from anyone's inventory. I thought one time my graphic card was bad, but since I turned DEP off it's been working fine. I don't know where to find the spec's for it do you? If so I could put them on here!

On mine, I go to "control panel", "system", click on tab "hardware" and then "device manager".  In that list, there is "display adaptors".   Click on the plus sign and at least it tells you what kind of graphic card it is.

I am having the SAME problem with one of mine. She's an elder and there's a lot of stuff in her inventory, mostly sketches from the drafting table. I've found the one way to prevent the shaking/blinking/everyone has the same inventory thing is to click off of the inventory tab, click on another Sim, then click on their inventory tab. It only shows up as "everyones" when I stay on the inventory tab and then change Sims. Seems like that prevents the blinking too. However I have no idea how to fix the problem with not being able to remove anything from her inventory. She had a wish for a cane so I got it for her, she put it into her inventory and it disappeared. Haven't tried restarting or rebooting yet though.

First, welcome to the forums Sabrina! Also thank you, I'll try closing the inventory tab before switching to the next Sim. I'm sorry you're having it too, I was starting to think it was just me! Hopefully they can give us a patch to fix it, but I'm not really holding my breath for that one!  :(
