I saw a Stone Statue appear in the Giftable Items, the Statue was in the Family Inventory.

Yes, anything in your Sim's inventory can be gifted to another Sim.  Although I haven't yet had the opportunity to gift a stuck item per Ricalynn's post, so I am not sure if that can be done yet.   

Yeah, but the fact is scarved items apear in your family inventory, not the sims personal one. That's why I was asking.

Oh you mean when the thing is gifted it will go into the other Sims Family Inventory? That probably does make it pointless to gift that then.

Just click on your mailbox and it should give you the option to write thank you notes.  However you need a clear surface to do this, much like doing homework, they just won't do the thank you notes on the ground like kids will.

Can townie's just randomly give you gifts? That would be pretty cool! Wouldn't mind being gifted a Bwan Speeder.

I had a newspaper stuck in my inventory, clicked give gift, chose it and it wouldn't let me.  Although I was able to give someone my VFN Kompensator(sp?) lol.

If I hold a birthday party for an infant or a toddler (who was made prior to generations), will she receive an imaginary friend as a gift from the mail? Thanks!

I'm not sure but I can tell you so far in my game that was started pre-Generations, neither of the toddlers received an IF.
