This has to be one of my favorite things! I missed gifts from sims 2 and I am glad they brought it back! A few notable things is when you get married people send you gifts in the mail. We already knew you could give gifts but I did not know you got them in the mail from people. I can't wait for the first birthday party I have.

I agree as I have really missed the gift giving.
One of the gifts received in the mail is the 'Imaginary Friend' toy for your child.  I have received one so far and I can't wait for my toddler to grow into a child.  This is going to be very interesting!

 So far I have been able to give them at any time. In friendly interaction you will see it if your relationship is high enough. In romantic interactions you can give flowers too

Yes and give friends unwanted relics from traveling!

You can also given random things.  My insane sim gave her boss an old newspaper and he thought it was the best gift ever.  So it's pretty much anything in their inventories that can be given as gifts.   I got a wedding gift from a dead relative, too.  Can't wait to see how that works farther along in my dynasty.

Hilarious. I haven't tried it, I need to. I wonder if it works for anything in the family inventory or just that sims inventory? It would also be awesome if we could gift the architect or stylist portfolio that's stuck in our sims inventory!

What a great way to make friends, and give bladder flow to future enemies. This is a great feature to resurrect.

Yes, anything in your Sim's inventory can be gifted to another Sim.  Although I haven't yet had the opportunity to gift a stuck item per Ricalynn's post, so I am not sure if that can be done yet.

It's from Generations, I don't know if it came in the Patch. It's an Interaction or an Option on an Item in your Sims Inventory.

Crafted. So this also works with Ambitions homemade statues?

I saw a Stone Statue appear in the Giftable Items, the Statue was in the Family Inventory.
