Oh wow. I have way too much experience with legacy ghosts! Lol. There have been posts about it already, but even I wouldn't be able to find them right now!
You have several options:
- Keep the grave on your lot and let the ghost roam freely.
- Let one of your Sims carry the grave in his inventory, which means the ghost never appears.
- Take the grave to the public cemetary and place it somewhere. The ghost will haunt the cemetary, but nowhere else.
- Make a private family cemetary on a public lot and place the grave there. Like the public cemetary, the ghost will only haunt that lot.
For my 12 generation Dreamweaver Legacy family, I chose the private family cemetary. I put a fence, flowers, trees, and benches on the lot across from my family's house. It's the one in Summerhill Court that has the pond for fishing. Once I had put several graves there, it started showing up with a cemetary tag on the map view. However, I believe you can also change the category of the lot from the Edit Town function. It worked out nicely for me. All the family throughout the generations was in one spot. They came out often to haunt the cemetary, but never disturbed the living family. And they were all right across the street if anyone wanted to go pay respects. You can visit my blog to see some stories and pictures, if you want.
http://spoopssims3world.wordpress.com/category/legacy-family-challenge/If you opt to keep the graves on your family lot and let the ghosts haunt, it could get annoying. It does for me, anyway. They take up bed space, eat food, break showers, and scare people. Plus, it makes me sad.
I hope this is helpful for you. Let us know how it goes for you!
