Ooh, is this another Orphanage Project? Is it? No, it won't be because it would be in the wrong board. Silly me. But then why is Mr. Payne here? Maybe one of the disceased was the child of one of the Orphaned children! Maybe.
Okay, I'll shut up now. :D

Mr. Payne gets around. He's no longer content with just Orphanage Projects.  ;)

From Riches Galore, the post in which Mr Payne departs:
Quote
Mr Payne has returned to wherever his kind goes when they are not helping struggling Sims to find their way.  Perhaps he will be seen again in this time and place.  Perhaps not.

Chapter Four

Saturday evening a visitor comes to the house.  Neither of the girls has ever seen him before and I'm not sure who he is.  He looks like the science geek that turns up from time to time in different games, but I've never seen those fellows go visiting.  Anyway, he strikes up a conversation with Sunflower.

When it's her turn to talk, Sunflower decides to tell a ghost story.

The visitor listens raptly, impressed with Sunflower's imaginative story.  Then Daffy drifts past carrying a book and the visitor realizes that Sunflower wasn't making it up.

The next one to appear is Petunia. Marigold finds the courage to tackle her about being evil, something Marigold would never have dared to do when Petunia was alive.

The visitor has had enough.  He can't escape fast enough.  He runs off to spread the word:  "Stay away from that house!  Half of them are ghosts and the other half are completely nuts."

The evil slobs may be dead, but they're definitely not gone.  Sunflower can't believe she's still picking up after them.

Morning arrives, the time when all well-behaved ghosties return to their caskets.  Not Daffy.  He settles in for a nice nap so he can rest up for another night of fun.

Neither Marigold nor Sunflower has ever been allowed to touch the mailbox, and it doesn't occur to them to check for mail.  But it's Sunday morning, and Marigold and Sunflower's lives are about to change because of the neglected mailbox.

True, it may be something like an eviction notice, which would be even worse.

Chapter Five

Sunday is the girls' birthday.  First Marigold:

Then Sunflower:

I want to get them together for a screenshot to show you the clothes the game gave them, but that will have to wait.  There is no time for the girls to celebrate (or mourn?) their Elder birthday.  They are about to have an unexpected visitor.

Yes, the girls didn't know enough to pay their bills and now the repoman (repowoman?  repoperson?) has arrived.

Marigold and Sunflower don't know what's happening.
Marigold:  What's going on?  Who are you?  What have you done with the loveseat?

Repo:  I've repossessed it.  You snooty Flowers have to pay your bills just like everyone else.
Sunflower:  Bills?  What bills?
Repo:  Well, duh - the ones that come in your mailbox, of course!  [seeing Marigold and Sunflowers' blank looks] Good grief, are you two for real?  No wonder everybody's talking about the weirdo Flowers!  Look, do me a favour and pay your bills next time, ok?  I don't want to have to come back here.  This place creeps me out.  If they're going to send me to places like this, I should get danger pay.

Repo leaves.  Marigold and Sunflower look around them in dismay.

Sunflower:  My salary at the Diner won't be enough to pay all the bills, you know.
Marigold:  We can't afford to live here.  We'll have to move to someplace smaller.  But where?
Sunflower:  There's a free computer at the library.  I once saw somebody using it to check real estate listings.  Why don't we go see if we can find something?

At the library Marigold waits while Sunflower checks the real estate listings.  Both are uncomfortably aware of townsfolk staring at them and whispering.

Sunflower:  Most of the places listed are way too expensive for us.  Wait, here's one.  [reading] "Cozy cottage ... quaint ... unique ... great potential ... mature landscaping ... priced to sell"  It's in Sunset Valley.
Marigold:  It doesn't sound too bad.  Especially the part about being priced to sell.
Sunflower:  It's the only place we can afford.
Marigold:  Then I guess we have no choice.
Sunflower:  Anything has to be better than going back home and spending our remaining time picking up after the ghosts.  We can wait for Grim just as well in Sunset Valley.
Marigold:  Sunset Valley, here we come!

Thanks, Seabody.  Yeah, they're on their way.  And I hope they're on the slow boat, because I've got to come up with a new name for this story before they reach their destination.  "The Flowers of Twinbrook, now in Sunset Valley" - no, I think not!  Thanks for the comment.
