Stocking Ponds?

Yes, if you buy 10 goldfish from the grocery store, you can stock your backyard pond with them.  I have done this many times in the past so that my sims could fish right at home to gain their skill without traveling to a lake or river.

And...  I'm still seeing that the inspection of the water gets better when I put more fish into the pond.  I'm not sure what's up with that.

The way I interpret what Pam said is if you keep stocking a pond, then the chance of an inspection resulting in "This is a great place to fish" goes up.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. 

I've got a pond at the moment that has gone from being not a very good place to fish to being a decent place because I've added fish to the pond.  I'm going to continue stocking it to see if I can get it all the way to the max with fish jumping out of the water.

In riverview there is the fishing ponds? So can you make several small ponds and stock each individually or not? So like Catfish in one, Angelfish in Another and Deathfish in a third one???

I was playing with buydebug today, my fisher sim had stocked a pond with deathfish, then in buymode I noticed that there was a spawner in there, which is probably a deathfish one, there were two ponds on the lot and the non-stocked one had no spawner in. I thought I should post that as it seemed like that answers a few questions with proof.

Hmmmm... but you CAN always use the public ponds... you can do make needs static, go to public ponds, and fish until life ends.

Using the stocking ponds method you can stock a pond with a certain fish and then when you fish in it you catch that fish not a mix of them, it is handy for Deathfish you can fish them all day long! Where as in the graveyard you have from midnight to 3 or 4 am I think. You can also say stock a pond with the Alley Catfish then stock another pond with Angel Fish and finaly another pond with Deathfish, you fish the catfish to use as bait for the Angelfish and then use the Angelfish as bait for the Deathfish.

Or for all the convenience, have Alley Catfish, Angelfish and Deathfish all in one fishing spot. Then fish till you drop. Correction, you can fish the Deathfish from the graveyard from 12 to 5... but it's limited to about 6 Deathfishes per night. So it's always better to have it specially stocked.

As with any body of water, the chances of catching a specific fish go up when you use the bait for that particular fish.

Sorry Forgot to add in the part there about stocking. I was wondering at what amount of stocking the chances of ctaching a particular fish goes up.
