Stuff Pack Guide
« on: May 26, 2011, 11:49:51 PM »
Another idea I have had would be a Stuff Pack guide.  Simply put, it would be a guide that shows the new items in a stuff pack, lists their stats and stuff, so with a full list, people can decide if its worth shelling out the $20 bucks for.  I'm kind of regretting getting Outdoor Living myself because though the items are cool, there just aren't that many of them.

So yeah, additions for each stuff pack that show the new clothes, hair styles, and build/buy items would be good.  It's certainly easier to do than one for each expansion pack.

You may think it's bad considering my position, but I don't buy stuff packs. If someone wanted to offer me a list with screenshots for them, I would gladly host a page to help people make these buying decisions. I guess that more stuff couldn't ever make me happy with the game, but new features are more important, so I naturally own all expansions :)

There are quite a few interesting items that were added through the three stuff packs. These include the vibrating bed and aquarium (HELS), new hottubs (OLS). But, I cannot offer any screenies, because I don't have OLS. Maybe someone has all three?

Probably most of us have all three, me included and most of my screenshots are on the gallery here and photobucket.  If a person had the time, could go through the gallery, but that seems like work, lol. :)

Well I only have High End Loft Set and Outdoor Living myself.  I'm still debating on Fast Lane and not thinking is worth it, since I rarely end up buying my sims a car.

I'd be glad to help on this guide. It's just taking pictures of the items, naming them, and giving details such as price, stats and function, right? Yea, I could do that... Generation's Content Sorting would help, too.

Yes it will.  It may end up being something I can do, at least for a stuff pack.  I would be fun to have my own page contributed to the guide.

Well until I get generations next weekend, I myself can't do anything.  Though If you wanted to start on the Fast Lane content, that would be cool.  Its the only Stuff Pack I don't yet have.

Sounds great, Naga. All folks need are the shots and the stats. I can make a new gateway page when they're ready, and show people new to the sims all expansions and stuff packs they have options to buy on a single page.

I might be able to take this up, considerably High-End Loft. If I did, though, where would I put the data/pictures?

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

You could zip and email them to me. Just be sure to denote the screenshot number with where it goes in the text.

I quickly knocked out all of the photos on High End Loft, but I still have stats to go. I think I did an okay job on the photos, but some of them were annoying to take, such as the ceiling lights (vanish when I get too close). Also, I have a question: should I type the item's description?

Edit: Woops, I decided to take a look at the photos I took. Not something that thousands of people should see. (It's what I get to try and take high-quality photos of 30+ items in 7-8 minutes.)

I'm officially excited. Thanks for going that extra mile to make them look good. HEL is the one I'd want most on the guide. I was informed of a site that has all of the fast lane stuff, and might just be nice and give that webmaster a link (on the guide) to cover that stuff pack. No sense reinventing the wheel. Still, it'll be very nice to have some of our own coverage. I do want the guide to cover most everything, so thank you.

EDIT: BellaClo showed me that the others are there actually. If you want to continue, that's great. I will link them to the other two stuff packs on that site. They did a great job showing off all the items. These links will end up on the expansion packs list. I'll just list them the order they were released. If you want to abort since it's already been done by another site, I understand.

I guess I don't need to when it has already been done.  Either way, I still am a big fan of this guide and I'd like to help! Is there anything I can do?
